The other great long running BBC series is ofcourse, "Coronation Street". A few years ago a teledrama was made telling the story of how the series came to be way back in 1960. I think it would be great if a similar teledrama was made telling the story of the genisis of "Dr Who".

David Bradley (Argus Filch from the Harry Potter movies) is playing William Hartnell, Brian Cox is playing Sydney Newman, one of the shows creators, and the movie is being written (maybe even produced) by Mark Gatiss.
Lots of material for a good movie in this story... a creator who was originally insistent this be educational and avoiding the Bug Eyed Monster tropes as much as possible, a female producer at a time when that wasn't at all the norm, an (IIRC) Iranian director, a theme song written by a woman who was a pioneer in electronic music (two then-unusual feats in one)... I'm really looking forward to seeing this.
In the coarse of my Who Marathon I am now at Pertwee's final season and I've noticed that the older Pertwee gets, the more he looks like Bea Arthur. So, in the spirit of having a bit of fun
Goodby Sara Jane. Your a good girl and quite adorable. it's funny, she started off with a lot of bluster, but by the end her screams were as annoying as Jo Grant's.
awesome! What a nice treat to hear his voice again - he's older, of course, but the friendly voice is still the same! Can't wait to see him in the 50th anniversary celebration episode (where I'm assuming he will appear)!

Yeah. That always bothered me at how the character over time changed like that.
Hmmm... here's an interesting parallel for all you Doctor WHO aficionados. Remember that two part episode The Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead where a young girl's mind was essentially embedded within a library's computer. That girl's name was Charlotte Abigail Lux, and her persona manifested into the form of a young girl named CAL. Both CAL and Clara Oswald existed in virtual worlds. CAL's last words to the doctor were, "Aren't I a clever girl?". Clara's catch phrase seems to be, "You clever boy." Just something to think about.
And for those of you watching your Doctor Who premiere on BBC America, I encourage you to stick around another hour and check out the series premiere of Orphan Black. It's excellent. I would especially recommend it for fans of the old ABC series Alias, or generally fans of shows about a talented actress kicking ass (and some mystery and SF to go with it):
