Love all the interesting, crazy covers posted recently! And @Caliban, Aparo did so many covers I loved as a kid. I'm sure his covers sold me on many DC books at the newsstand.
Today's random cover of the day (Marvel 1973) by Rich Buckler and Frank Giacoia. A Steve Gerber story in which we see appearances of villains such as Jester, Leap Frog, Matador, Tagak, Dr. Doom and the Gladiator!
My favorites are art pieces that still reveal something about what happens in the book. So many books seem to go strictly for the pinup effect these days.
@Kyle_Minor Great to have you jumping in -- if you love covers, you came to the right thread! ;) Love that Byrne cover!
@Caliban Those Living Mummy stories were really quite good and held up even when I read them a couple years ago. Loved the Val Mayerick interiors on the ones I re-read, too.
@dubbat138 You continue to come up with some really interesting stuff! Love that Punch comics cover!
Today's random cover the day (Marvel 1973) by Gil Kane & Tom Palmer. Interior story adapts "The Monsters" by Lester Dent

I know. Would love to have that cover on a shirt.

Still not as egregious as Ultimates #1, with its perfectly-rendered B-17s and B-24s dropping paratroopers instead of bombs.
Bob Baer
Ed Goldfarb
Steve Ditko
Don Heck

John Byrne I think was a master of doing both:
Steve Ditko
Art Gates
That is a brilliant Byrne cover. I love the use of negative space to create the image

This explains lots!
