Got in the first season of "Tales from the Crypt". Now I have never seen these uncut. When it was airing the cable we had didn't offer HBO. So all I ever saw was the syndication cuts.
I was thinking of watching Alien tonight. Haven't seen it in quite some time.
Nice I just recently rewatched the Director's cut of Alien a month or so. As a kid I loved Aliens but hated Alien. But as I have gotten older I have come to dislike Aliens and love Alien. To me Alien is a nice horror/science fiction film. Where as Aliens is a action movie and not that great of an action movie. But then I am also not a fan of James Cameron.
This is the sequel to Jack Ketchum's Offspring. Written by Lucky Mckee and Jack Ketchum, this film made a big splash at Sundance last year when someone in the audience freaked out and started yelling about how this was a movie so offensive it should never have been made.
It is the story about a family that lives way out in teh countryside of Maine. One morning the father is out hunting and happens upon a feral woman. He manages to capture her, brings her home and talks him family into tying her up in their root celler and trying to civilize her.
Now first off if you are not a horror fan avoid this movie. It is one of the move extreme examples of modern horror. And I don't mean that in a torture porn way. But it does deal with some very touchy subjects. As with most films based on Jack Ketchum novels the movie is very brutal and doesn't hold back much. Besides Angela "May" Bettis the rest of the cast are pretty much unknowns. If you are a fan of horror and can handle stuff that most mainstream studios are afraid to touch "The Woman" is worth seeing.
The wife and I have both become obsessed with Downton Abbey. It's the British period costume drama for people who don't typically enjoy British period costume dramas.
Amazing documentary about Roger Corman. Will have to buy this soon.
Just recently watched the documentary on BBC4 - loved it. And of course I did go through my collection of Corman masterpieces to re-visit the craziness.

I am thinking about in May doing a Corman mega marathon. It seems I own at least 100 of his films.
I showed my wife the beginnings of Queen's Blade. She got about 10 minutes in before she was spitting out a combination of "WTF is this?" and "Turn this the hell off!" :)
Which is pretty much what I expected to happen. :) Something about bunny-maiden-demons with boobs that spurt acid milk. GOD I LOVE THE JAPANESE!!! :)
Currently obsessed with Sports Night. It's making me sad that people don't talk like Aaron Sorkin characters in real life. It's also making me sad that The West Wing isn't available through any of the streaming services yet.
I just got the word that they put My Little Pony : Friendship is Magic on instant queue.
May Celestia have mercy on your mortal souls...the fun has now been doubled!!! :)
I noticed that they recently added Transformers Prime and G.I. Joe: Renegades (or maybe they just finished adding the rest of their first seasons). My son and I will probably be checking these out.
Just set my PS3 up to be able to access the US Netflix from the UK, the range on offer is 10x what we get. Will be using this thread to find the good stuff!

I couldn't get my wife to sit through ten minutes of Voices of a Distant Star, this would a failure before it started.
