How did I miss this? It HAS to be inspired by the Six Million Dollar Man Bigfoot episodes with Andre the Giant.
I'd say less inspired by the Six Million Dollar Man, and more inspired by the general Bigfoot/UFO/Loch Ness Monster/Bermuda Triangle craze that was so big during that time. That stuff was all over the place, and showed up in lots of different TV shows and movies, including kids’ shows. Bigfoot showed up in The New Scooby-Doo Movies in 1972, and in an episode of Mighty Isis in 1975.
I never saw Bigfoot and Wildboy either. My local ABC affiliate didn't carry the Krofft Supershow or the shows that replaced it. They switched over to local programming during that time slot instead. So I never saw “Electra Woman and Dyna Girl” either.

Maybe not so much "inspired" by the SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN as capitalized on it. Apparently Bigfoot runs in slow motion with a 6MDM sound effect/music playing and would perform super jumps realized through the same effects shots of him leaping into the air. Combine the slow-motion running, jumping, and paper mache rock throwing and it just screams 6MDM in my mind.

Gotcha. Yeah, that'd do it. It's funny thinking about it now just how often slow-motion was used in action shows in the ’70s. If Kung Fu were made today, the fight scenes would be sped up, zoomed in on, dark and blurry, etc.—in other words, the complete opposite of how it was filmed in the ’70s.
