I've seen all 3 and all in, but I wrote that after sitting through fight for the fallen. Fyter Fest and FFF were pretty terrible. The Vegas show was okay, but that was because of the mat classic with Cody & Dustin.
It's got to get a lot better because this summer has featured a lot of indy stuff that works well in a bar, but looks like **** when you are trying to present your company as the future. It's been way too much haha and there are a lot of guys on the roster that need to muscle up.
There are some really positive things I see. They have smart wrestling people behind the scenes, they have some very talented wrestlers, and it appears that they have a good working relationship with AAA and NJPW which should allow them to bring in some big talent. I really like JR and Excalibur on the mics. Potential is there.
Now here's the deal, just because I have problems with aew's shows so far doesn't mean that I don't want to you not to enjoy it. If that's what brought you back to the table, awesome. I really hope in a month or so we will both be talking about how great wrestling is, and if I'm still not caring about AEW, I hope you are loving it. I'll talk about enjoying wrestling with anybody that wants to. I don't really like talking about stuff I really don't like, the CGS way.
The Bucks, Kenny Omega, Cody, and Adam Page are some of my favorite wrestlers. I have loved Penta and Rey since I first saw them in season 1 of lucha underground. Dustin has been a favorite of mine since he was the natural. I enjoy SCU most of the time, and MJF is the man. There is a lot to be excited about with AEW

Didn't even cross my mind. I admit they aren't always doing something great, but they are trying something different... While I generally frown on the Monday Night Wars era, at least both companies were pushing the edge of creativity. Once WCW folded, WWE ran back to not making any innovative stories again. TNA rose and fell (and I don't care what anyone says, Impact Wrestling is freaking terrible) without really doing much in the way of competition... AEW is trying. :)
On a side note about TNA/Impact: When Hulk Hogan came in and crapped on what the company was doing, he ruined the entire company and any chance they had to succeed. The 6-sided ring was different and interesting. The TNA Knockouts were doing things in women's wrestling that was far more than just parading around scantily clad ladies for some T&A... The TNA stars were really doing some great things, bringing in the occasional odd ball to build on things (like Christian Cage, Bobby Lashley, etc). Sure, it would have been a slow build but TNA tanked once Hogan came in.
Just got back from New Japan's Royal Quest show in London. Great main event between Suzuki and Okada, best atmosphere I've ever experienced at a show as all of Suzuki's UK appearances over the past couple of years meant the majority were willing him to win despite his usual heel role in Japan.
I'll be catching that on the NJPW app tomorrow. Any chance I will see you on camera
Unlikely, I'm about 7 rows deep on the floor (which was not great for seeing ZSJ's mat work) and New Japan's cameras were focused on the action rather than the crowd. On the other hand, RevPro's Cheltenham show with Liger's last UK match, my ugly mug is probably in that too much :)
What did everyone think of the AEW PPV? Overall I was very impressed, not really a dud-match on the show. The main event was ok and I liked the ending but I'm used to a very different Jericho. Tag Ladder match was easily match of the night. Cody continues to impress. Luchasaurus is life.
A friend of mine started a WWE Pay-Per-View fantasy league of sorts. Predicting the winners of each PPV for the year. Winner get a championship belt at the end of the "season" which is Wrestlemania. It's been fun so far.
Nice, trying to guess the winners of the matches can be harder than most people think. WWE and Vince are always throwing Curve Balls just for the sake of doing it. But the overall product remains the same. We should do something like that here, predict PPV matches and whatnot.

This is the first AEW show I didn't watch. I'm done with it until it's on TNT.
Not to sound are Jim Cornette, but it has been too indy for me.
It's a new way to gamble on wrestling. I've always liked doing a draw on the royal rumble, but that is a really good idea

NWA Power on YouTube was awesome. I think it might be one of my favorite new wrestling show. It's a toss up between Power and Smackdown on Fox
