The Answer #1 (Mike Norton's character debuts at long last!) Young Avengers #1 (the Phonogram team with art assist by Norton? Yup.) FF #3 Supergirl #16 Shazam #32 (I now have just one issue left to complete the run!) Back Issue #62 (Bronze Age Superman goodness, including an article on the Supermobile... I'd be lying if I said that wasn't a selling point for me)
This week's purchases: MIND MGMT 7 so stoked for the new story arc! Massive 8 (loving this book) Nightwing 16 and Red Hood 16 (neither is on my pull but I'm the sucker buying all the DOTF books because Scott Snyder Batman events are right up my alley) Prophet 33 BW: Minutemen 6 --- the only one of the BW books I had any interest in sticking with Hellblazer 299
Astonishing X-Men Wolverine and the X-Men Uncanny Avengers Young Avengers Young Avengers O'Malley variant Blue Beetle Nightwing Red Hood and the Outlaws
Really not sorry that Marvel is outpacing DC in my pull list these days. And while Marvel messes with its own history, at least they didn't jettison it entirely for a universe full of lookalikes simply because they were too talentless to write their way out of the hole they were in.
Went to my LCS and picked up the latest Fables trade. And though it's been a few weeks, picked up Batman 16. I have to read 14 15 and 16.
But the bigger news is I downloaded the comixology app on my iPad. I bought Hawkeye number 1.
I also downloaded some free comics. There was some DC 101 comics. Real basic stuff. But even cooler was they had some Jonathan Hickman first issues for free. Nightly News, Pax Romana, Manhattan Projects.
LCS: Doctor Who: Prisoners of Time #1 Hawkeye #7 Batman Incorporated #s 5-7 (dropped it a few months back but decided I missed it, so I wanted to catch back up)
eBay: 8 Target / Pinnacle Doctor Who adaptations: Planet of the Spiders The Giant Robot (Robot) The Creature from the Pit The Deadly Assassin The Mind Of Evil The Twin Dilemma The Dinosaur Invasion (Invasion of the Dinosaurs) (Pinnacle edition) The Android Invasion (Pinnacle edition)
I prefer the cover art, logos, and general look and feel of the Target Publishing books, but the Pinnacle Books editions have this intro from Harlan Ellison which is Harlan in pure, unadulterated, slavering fan mode. Worth the price of admission alone.
Doctor Who: Prisoners of Time 1 Star Trek: Countdown to Darkness 1 Batman and Robin Annual Superman Family Adventures Talon 4 Hawkeye 7 Aquaman 16 Teen Titans (DOTF tie-in)
It was another good week to be reading comics! I also picked up Matt Kindt's Super Spy and Super Spy: The Lost Dossiers.
My LCS's other location in Seekonk, MA: Jonah Hex: Luck Runs Out TPB 4 more Target/Pinnacle Doctor Who novelizations: Logopolis, Castrovalva, Doomsday Weapon (Colony in Space), Masque of Mandragora
Comicazi in Boston: G-Man Vol. 1 and sketches for my son (G-Man) and I (Captain Marvel, Jr.) from Chris Giarrusso (who was there for a signing)
The "I can't believe I'm the first one to post in this thread for this week" edition:
LCS: Fearless Defenders #1 The Black Beetle #1 Worlds' Finest #9 Fairy Quest #1
Toys R Us: Star Wars #1 (first printing, no less... happy accident stumbling across this there since I missed it and was originally planning to get the 2nd print this week)
MyComicShop.com trade credit order: Batman 362 (Riddler!) Batman The Dark Knight Returns TPB (haven't owned a copy of this in a while... figured it was time again) Darkwing Duck/DuckTales Dangerous Currency TPB Original Black Cat 8 (Reprints the Golden Age Black Cat from Harvey Comics... good stuff, so hard to find!) Shazam 29 (This will complete my run at long last!) Tales of the Batman: Gene Colan Vol. 1 HC
Legends of the Dark Knight #s 1-3 (hearing about the upcoming digital-first Adventures of Superman reminded me that DC does currently have a continuity-lite-and/or-free pre-Flashpoint Batman book out there which usually has an all-star line-up each issue, so I figured that was something I should finally check out)
