Tower Of Shadows, and it's companion book, Chamber Of Darkness.
They were starting to run out of Place of Scariness titles.
Mix and match to find the next title!
The Nook of Insanity The Alcove of Madness The Garden of Evil The Basement of Morbid Curiosity The Closet of Chills The Veranda of Vileness
The Cupboard of Corruption The Hovel of Halitosis The Outhouse of Incontinence The Trailer of Discontent The Loft of Awkwardness The Fixer-Upper of Infinite Chores The Condo of Calamities The Shack of Hate* The Duplex of Doom
The book of the month club episode about this trade is still one of my all time favorite episodes. I love how the Coyote Gospel flew right over Matt's and Deemer's heads. Like both of them I am not religious at all. But I had noticed all the religious symbolism in the earlier issues. Then the in your face Animal Man on the cross on the cover of issue 5. To me at least Morrison was a little heavy handed with the symbolism. But still this is a great trade with an amazing cover.
Whoops! Guess I should have checked back through the posts. We keep a litter box in our mud room, and I had just walked into it a bit earlier. I'll change mine to: The Mud Room of Malodorous Malevolence!
Another book that switched titles. For the first eight issues, it was called Beware.
There's no credit listed for the cover artist, but it looks to me like Marie Severin.
I think it's actually Bill Everett, but it could be Marie Severin. And she probably designed the cover at the very least. She was still doing a lot of that at the time.
