I realize this thread has faded into obscurity, and rightly so I think, but i wanted to end the discussion with an image from the cover of latest solicit for Hawkman. You can say what you like about the man, but it seems very clear his work has progressed very little in 20 years.
That is actually my biggest gripe and source of dislike for him. He is akin to the kid jamming fingers in his ears and yelling LALALALA! When you talk to him or read any of his comments they all amount to the fact that he doesn't actually love or care about art or even comics, he loves money and he's happy to have his group of fans that will buy his work and never progress, push any boundaries, or do much of anything really. All of that is far different than how he just plays it off as everyone hating on his art skills.
