Lucked out and managed to get a ticket for an autograph from Sylvester McCoy at the 50th anniversary celebration...he's my wife's favourite Doctor. The website was absolutely slammed as soon as they went online.
Also paying a visit to the 10th Doctor's TARDIS for a photo.
And we've got our tickets lined up for a cinema showing with The-trouser-based-ex-geek-who-shall-not-be-named in the evening.
My heart's still racing from that. My jaw hit the floor 3 times on this... when the Doctor steps on screen, when I realize it's connecting to The Brain of Morbius (because by incredible coincidence I actually have out from Netflix right now!), and when the Doctor reels off his list of companions and pretty much makes Big Finish's output canonical in a single line. =D>

Can't agree enough. i loved the Big Finish companion reference, too. I would watch a whole other series with Paul McGann called The Hidden Years or The Missing years, whatever! We were robbed in not having more of him on TV. He could have easily been the difinitive Doctor.

I've only just started listening to his BF audios - listened to Storm Warning a month or so back and just polished of Sword of Orion the other day - and I love them so far. This makes me want to explore even more!

There's a new interview with Moffat about the minisode in which he states it was important to him to bring back McGann and finally show that regeneration.
Now I'm crossing my fingers and hoping that maybe we'll actually get to see that other regeneration we never got to see.
Finally! Something I can talk about! I LOVED this, especially the BF references. I wish they had made this a 45 minute episode.
I remember a few years ago (I think it was during the Tennant run) there was this persistent rumor that one season's Doctor lite story was going to star McGann. I don't know if it was based on anything legitimate or simply fan wish fulfillment, but it was one of those rumors that wouldn't go away for a while.
Impressed by the idea they respect the long time fans enough to do this. Too short an episode to critique it but love the care they are putting into the 50th anniversary.

The BBC is being challenged over the ownership of the copyright of the TARDIS, by the son of the author of the first Doctor Who story, Anthony Coburn.

"So now we know, now we know for sure."
I'd say more, but maybe some people don't want to be spoiled.
