I'm going to have to wait for the DVD, darn it. I don't get BBC America on my cable, and I'm likely not going to be able to get to that theater showing as I'd hoped due to work. Shame, that; it would have been cool to have watched it on the really big screen.

Well you won't have too wait long for it. Amazon has the release date for 12/10
Hoping Amazon continues the trend of episodes being available the Sunday after they air with Day of the Doctor because I'm not going to be able to see it at all on Saturday.
Just a friendly reminder. Only 11 U.S. theaters will showing The Day of the Doctor on the 23rd, whereas over 400 U.S. theaters will be showing the encore presentation on the 25th. A lot of people in the U.S. (myself included) intend for their initial viewing to be in a movie theater, even if it is two days later. This means a lot of people will be trying to avoid major spoilers for two days after the simulcast showings. For those who wish to discuss The Day of the Doctor right after it airs, please be mindful of this thread's one request by being diligent about prefacing all spoiler-filled posts accordingly.

Sheeeet, how do think I feel? I gotta wait two more days. I'm not saying people can't discuss the special. I'm merely reminding people to preface any spoiler filled replies with warnings.
Speaking of which, how did this thread get 29 pages in without someone pointing out that I had misspelled the word "current" in its title (typo now rectified).

Picked up my ticket to see it in 3D on Monday. I'll be seeing it before then (probably more than once), but I couldn't pass up the opportunity. And I'm kind of curious to see who comes out to see it, since I don't personally know any Who fans in town.
I'm also happy to see that Uverse finally added BBC in HD to their line-up. And I'm glad I remembered to check before setting my DVR.
The missing episode rumor mill continues, according to an article quoted by DoctorWhoArchive.com:
Information has been provided to DWA which apparently provides a list of what episodes were recovered. This list was allegedly posted online in June of this year and comes from a very good source (not the original poster, if indeed there was one).
Certain aspects of this article were amended following an objection from a concerned party, the alleged original poster. We of course apologise for any distress caused. The list remains the same.
As ever this should all be taken as rumour at this stage, this time however we will be passing comment given the claims of the source.

The piece at the site goes on to describe how/why these episodes may be turning up in all these far flung places. Worth a read.
As much as I'd love this to be true, wouldn't they have held up the release of the Tenth Planet DVD if they'd recovered episode four? I think it just came out Tuesday, and I'm waiting for my library to get it before I see it, but last I'd heard it still featured an animated final episode.
I really thought we'd get some more announcements in the week leading up to the 50th, but nothing yet.
Um. Power of the Daleks. The Highlanders. The Evil of the Daleks. The Abominable These are stories I have heard in audio format from audible.com and to see these in both audio and video is so cool. I so want to see Patrick Troughton in his first Doctor Who story. That would be awesome.
I was thinking the other day that if I could only pick one lost story to be recovered, I'd have to go with Power of the Daleks. First post-regeneration story, first Troughton story, a solid Dalek story - even if there are better stories, it's just too important historically to not want it found above all others.
Comments
The TV movie was the first episode I managed to sit through. And I quite enjoyed it.
