Cyberwoman is pretty much the series' lowest point, so if you got through that and still want to watch, there's nowhere to go but up from there.
Do you promise?
As I remember, it doesn't get stupid again until the season 1 finally.
btw, Countrycide is very good. I think it's up next.
Countrycide might be the only worthwhile episode of season 1. Season 2 is also pretty dreadful but has some fun guest stars that almost make it worth watching. And if you make it to Season 3 and enjoy it, do yourself a favor and stop there... Go out on a high note.

I've got to recover a bit from Cyberwoman before I plod on.

Is Season 3 the one-big-story one?
If I'm remembering correctly, season 3 is the season long, Children of Earth story. It is praise worthy. It also stars Peter Capaldi. So, you have that to look forward to.
Oh and, I don't remember who suggested it, but stop there.
@Pants, New guests for Gally were just announced. Burn Gorman from Torchwood will be there. The actor who play the lead Silence, Deep Roy, aka, Mr. Sin from Talons of Weng-Chiang and a few others.
I already have these titles, but for the benefit of others who may not, Best Buy has many of its Doctor Who bluray titles on sale this week. A few examples include the complete series 5 and 6 for $19.99 and the complete series 7 for $29.99. (Note: These are NTSC region 1 discs designed to played back on U.S. disc players. (I don't know how long this sale ends.)

Blu-Ray or DVD? Because I worked on both and the Blu-Rays say region A but should be open for all regions. Also HD isn't NTSC or PAL, but a universal standard. The DVDs are region 1 and NTSC though.
Ah thanks for the lesson. I didn't realize that the HD format was universal (unlike the DVD's NTSC/PAL). For the record, these were the Blu-ray sets.
For those who were interested, it looks as if the sale ended Sunday (i.e. today), but be sure to periodically check the link, for this was the second time in the past month that they ran this particular sale, so I wouldn't be surprised if the box sets go on sale again sometime down the line.
Since there are already reviews out there I'll express my impression. No spoilers but maybe if you want to go in blind you can skip.
I think it was great, but very different from what we've seen before. Maybe too different for some, especially the Smith-crazed teen girl set, which is pretty directly addressed in some meta-commentary during the episode. There is some disturbing ambiguity over one incident, but it's clearly intentional. It felt darker and a bit more pessimistic than previous iterations. The characters still have good chemistry though, with a couple of scenes making me laugh out loud. And the end will have people be calling out possible classic who villains could be returning. Can't wait for more!
Edit: I will say this as a negative, after some reflection. Clara's reactions don't always make sense considering her history and the events of the last special. It often goes against logic solely to make the point it's trying to make.
I opted not to watch the episode that leaked last month, though I did sneak a quick peek of it right up until the credits started rolling. My rational for viewing what little I did, was because I co-host a podcast and I was hoping to get a good look at the intro. credits, so that I might incorporate series 8's look into the new podcast logo I'll be replacing the old one with when we break for series 8. Alas, the intro. attached to the leaked episode was nothing more than a Matt Smith intro. (presumably a placeholder). As tempted as I was to download and watch the remainder of the episode, I can wait until an official release (already bought my movie ticket).

It's completely unlike any opening to come so far. I liked it, very twilight zone.

Perhaps not any official opening, but I read somewhere that the BBC liked this fan-produced trailer so much that they hired the guy who made it to help out with the real one. (For comparison, here's the fan-produced one that landed him the gig.)

Comments
I get to the third episode, and they're chasing the same kid Nick Angel chased in Hot Fuzz.
I just watched the "Cyberwoman" episode. What a groaner.
And the Cyberwoman had HEELS!

playdohsrepublic, just out of curiosity, can you see his influence?
The folks over at the Mirror seem to think so.
