The Doc Martens and the baggy pants make me think aging punk rocker. Someone from the '70s or '80s trying to look hip but age gracefully at the same time. That would make for an interesting Doctor.
I confess, I'm like the kid with a new toy at Christmas. Don't worry, the novelty will wear off soon enough. Tomorrow I plan to take a train up to San Francisco so I can catch the Cartoon Art Museum's Sandman exhibit, and maybe stop by Isotope while I'm up there, so you all get a reprieve from my antics - at least for a day. On the train ride to and from S.F., I plan to make some headway on Hartnell's season one Dalek story arc which will be the topic of discussion for this upcoming Friday's podcast recording. This will be our third recording session. We still plan to have several episodes in the can before we make them available. I'll keep you all in the loop as to when that will be.
Our podcast rollout is going according to plan. I recorded the third episode on Friday night. Look for it to hit iTunes (and other sites) in the weeks to come.
A bit of an aside. To get a little Capaldi fix, I've been watching BBC's Musketeers. That show is big and loud and dumb. It's Awesome! It's what CW should be.
Some interesting choices, and I think the American equivalent of Four is spot on, but Five - that's a good three years before that person was even doing film or television work. Seems like there would be a better option closer to that time, although that would have made for an interesting Doctor.

This stuff is so ridiculous. Add this to the even sillier mash up things I see on this thread I will stop hoping for news and avoid this thread all together. I guess I am a misanthrope as accused somewhere on this forum.

Fun!
I would really have enjoyed Rockwell & Glover's Doctors.

Fun indeed. Pertwee's my favourite doctor, but I can see Vincent Price as a suitable yank alternative. And I love the idea of Harrison Ford as the war doctor.
It looks as if the Doctor will be picking up an additional crew member for series 8. Actor Samuel Anderson will be playing Danny Pink, a character who is expected to have a recurring role in series 8.

A sequel is already in the works.

Considering About Time was my favorite movie of 2013, it's about time I parodied it.
