And that Atlas Phoenix series was my favorite -- bought them off the stand along with lots of other Atlas stuff. I think I might still have them...maybe not.
Here's an Atlas monster comic (kind of a Hulk-like character, IIRC) that I think I still have today!
Did you ever read "The Brute" from Atlas/Seaboard? It was another Hulk ripoff.
I did! And I may be confusing that one with this one, in fact. But for whatever reason, I always liked this one...
The Brute lasted 3 issues. I want to say that in one issue he ended up eating some kid that was helping him. In the third and final issue he fought an actual super villain. Ending on a cliffhanger it never got resolved. Now that the Atlas characters have made a comeback I would love to see The Brutes storyline resolved.
@dubbat138 Some great Gil Kane covers there. I'd definitely NEVER seen that Creeper cover!
That last issue of Beware The Creeper had some pretty poor distribution. I'd read the series when it first came out, but could never, ever find that final issue. In fact, it was months before I'd finally realized that the book had been cancelled. I had to wait until DC collected the entire series a couple of years ago to read it and find out if Proteus was who I'd suspected him to be.
@dubbat138 Loved those Power Records! I actually had some big LP versions of Avengers #4 and Journey into Mystery #83 -- still have the comics, at least! Plus had some of the later, smaller ones like the one you posted!
Today's cover is another Nick Cardy -- World's Finest #217!

I'm a bit jealous. The comics that came with those Lp's are very pricey!

As a kid I had almost all the Power Records comic book sets. But my mother gave them away ,without me knowing, when I was in my early teens.
The digital recoloring lacks any subtlety at all. I appreciate them not going overboard with airbrushing and effects, but the sharp edges of the color gradation goes too far the other way. It makes the guy in the bottom right-hand corner look like he has a watermelon for a shoulder. Here’s what it should look like:
Most definitely Kirby. This was during his return to Marvel after leaving DC in the late 70's.
Yep it is Kirby... one of my favorites that he did. I highly recommend picking up a copy, it is a great stand alone issue. The scene where Mr. Two crushes Magneto's helmet like tissue is worth the cost of the issue by itself.

I had been looking for this issue for many years. Never finding it in any comic shop. Then last year someone on this forum, and sadly I have forgotten who it was, mentioned they had just read it. I replied about how I had been lookign for it. They PMed me and offered to send it to me for free. About a week later I got it and an issue of Erik Larson's Next Issue Project. Just shows you how great the posters on this forum are.

I would love a trade of this short lived mid 70s Marvel title. This is the last issue and has a great Gil Kane cover.

To me at least 70s Marvel holds up better than most 60s Marvel stuff.Champions is still a fun read.
