Just because I'm a glutton for punishment, and I like background noise while I'm goofing around in the kitchen, I watched the 1977 classic, "Planet of Dinosaurs".
It should have been called Planet of the Land of the Lost.
Pure crap, but it served it's purpose. Stop motion Dinos and some fairly attractive people.

The folks at Rifftrax do an admirable job tearing that one apart...not that they needed to...it's goofy enough on its own.
Thought I'd drop this here. http://grrm.livejournal.com/422043.html George RR Martin is looking for the colorists that worked with Dabel Brothers on Hedge Knight and Sworn Sword.
So, I realized tonight after a good random selection on the iPod that I really, really want to see Streets of Fire again. It was a damned fun movie. Who, besides Walter Hill, would ever consider casting Rick Moranis and Willem Dafoe in the same movie?!?!

Also, sledge hammer duel!
Finally, Diane Lane FTW.
Was that random selection "Nowhere Fast" by any chance. Because that song is amazing!
The Daredevil series has been a great reminder of how influential Frank Miller has been upon comics for the last thirty years--in a good way.
The Batman Vs. Superman trailer has been a great reminder of how influential Frank Miller has been upon comics for the last thirty years--in a bad way.

If they receive wedding invites from him, they shouldn't go.

This morning my wife was listening to WZXR out of Williamsport.
She couldn't resist texting me to let me know that immediately following "Dream On" by Aerosmith, the deejay began discussing the pop culture of 1973 (the year Aerosmith's first album was released) and referenced The Sinful Dwarf and Blackenstein, both films having also been released that year.
Being a fan of all things '70s, especially the rock music and the exploitation flicks, this was priceless to me.
Now if only other stations would follow suit. It would make my day the next time "Crocodile Rock" plays on some Top 40 station to hear the deejay remind the audience that that single hit number one the same year that brought us Idaho Transfer and Bat P*ssy.

Actually, it was "Tonight is What It Means to Be Young." That was followed by "Nowhere Fast" and "Countdown to Love." My 15-year old has decided that she likes at least the first two.
Watched the original Freaky Friday over the weekend. I think the remake is a much better movie. I will say that even with the goofy "theatre" voice coming out of her, Barbara Harris is hellahot! Couldn't take my eyes off of her.

I am amused at the timing.

Will Benedict Cumberbatch channeling the character in a Chinese car commercial do?
