I believe the show is based off the sagas (of which I've never read or heard), and not necessarily the actual history. Kinda like Beowulf. Now, if you beef is that it's on the History channel, I see where you are coming from. I'm not sure about the history either. But it is entertaining.
The sagas I get, but nonsense like the Danes being afraid to sail into the unknown West is really hard to buy.
Danes had been sailing to Britain for centuries before the Viking era.
My wife and I enjoyed the 8 episode series 'The Eighties' which is a documentary series covering everything from technology, politics, MTV, etc from that era produced by CNN and Tom Hanks. There's another installment called 'The Seventies' which we will begin tomorrow or so. It's worth a watch.
Started watching Twin Peaks on Amazon Prime. I remember my parents watching it and my mom complaining how crazy it was. I just finished season one and enjoyed it. I hear they are bringing it back and it'll be fun to see what they do with it.

Just started a re-watch in anticipation of the new season.
Overall, it has aged fairly well, but for me the overuse of the same bits of music gets tiresome very quickly.

It didn't bother me when I watched it originally, but I can definitely see it becoming annoying during a binge watch. I think I still have the first soundtrack.

In one scene a character makes a selection on a jukebox...it's the theme music.
*sigh*
Yep.
And then there's the dreadful bit where James, Donna & Maddy sing.
I couldn't make it through the re-watch. I still want to see the new stuff, but I could not sit through Nadine in high school and James ... well, James doing anything, pretty much.
It's a really good book. Sorry I didn't plug the link. I went to the site to do that, but I ended up buying Marvel in the 1980s, Comicbook Fever, and picking up some digital copies of alter ego and Backissue. Then forgot about what I was there to do. Remember kids the best deal in comics is Twomorrows digital library.
For more ridiculous look at one of the image firestarters, and a tie back into the thread. Watch just the intros of spawn the animated series on Amazon prime. It's not a terrible show, but those intros are incredible.
That was a crazy time in comics. Two adult cartoons (Spawn and The Maxx); then the Saturday morning shows Wildcats, Savage Dragon, Sam and Maxx, The Tick, Ultraverse, all the Fox Marvel shows, DC animated shows, and an unreleased Gen-13 animated movie (should be able to watch the whole thing on YouTube).
Remember it?! The first one is meh, but 2 & 3 and Bloodlines are fantastic. Alucard and Belmonts. I love the Castlevania series; I am excited about this cartoon.
Point Break on Hulu. Always take time to watch Johnny Utah.
Conversation with the wife. Me - "Lori Petty was one of the beautifuliest people in Hollywood for her 2-3 window. I don't know why, but I get it." Wife (5 years younger than me and pretty much missed the 1989-1995 window) - "it's her eyes pause... and smile."
Excited for DEVILMAN crybaby from Science Saru on Netflix next year.
If you've not seen it, Devilman vs. Cyborg 009 on Netflix is fun and sort of fits into the continuity of the Devilman manga and the 2001 Cyborg 009 TV show.

I have it, too.

Honestly I got a few chuckles out of it but the premise loses steam pretty quickly
