Walmart will put big Lego sets on clearance at odd times. I will go cruising through the clearance some days and see $30 or $40 Lego sets for $15 or $20.
I've bought a lot of those 700 - 800 piece classic boxes for cheap at Walmart because I walked by the clearance
I rarely see them marked down that low. 15-20% mark-down is about as good as it gets usually. I did manage to get a Mystery Machine at 40% off a while back, but that kind of thing usually gets snapped up immediately in my area.
I did order a few sets of Legos from the shop.lego recently. I ordered the new car with kayak set, the truck with a trailer and 2 four-wheelers, and the bat signal set (on sale for $6.75) Now I have to get to building with my daughter. My stack of unbuilt Lego boxes at the top of my closest fell on me last night. I almost died, crushed by Legos, what an obit. With my dying breathe I would tell my wife to post it on the forums for you guys.
Last thing I built was the Voltron set. When they stopped the DC Super Hero High sets I found it to be a good "jumping off" point. Now I'm limiting it to truly special sets (aka Voltron) or anything that is a piloted mech (like Egghead's egg or something along those lines)...because those all look fun when you put them together. :)

You need kids. Lot of excuses to buy all kninds of sets. It's called "stockpiling for the Future".
New minifigure set is out now. It snuck up on me, and I just happened to see them in the store today. This series isn’t all that interesting on the whole, but they have the Monkey King as one of the characters. So my son and I now each own a Monkey King minifig. It’s pretty rad.

I think this is one of the more interesting sets, as there's a lot of props I've not seen before (rugby ball, pug, poop, mountain bike, game controller etc.)
There has been a mountain bike before, just not in blue. I’m not making elaborate sets (can’t afford to buy Lego all that often, and don’t have the space to display anyway), so most of the props are useless for me (see rugby ball). I do like the pug and the chameleon, though, and my daughter wants the poop. Next set is the second DC Superheroes series, and there will be 13 characters that haven’t been done yet, so I need to put some money aside for those.
Converted all the loose change laying around the house into DC minifigures.
So far I've got one of the two I was hankering after - Bat-Mite! I've been p. lucky so far with only one duplicate, but I might get Mister Miracle on ebay rather than push my luck (and I'm out of spare change).
The other ones I got were:
Superman (wish he had red trunks, but I didn't have a Superman up til now). Detective Comics #27 Batman (this is a really neat implementation) Metamorpho (lack of headpiece means he feels short especially compared to the Batman) Huntress Stargirl Wonder Woman (this was the duplicate)

I've forbidden both of them from even looking at the Sandcrawler. That one gets buried with me. :)
Boys my Walmart had unikitty and power puff girls on clearance for 4.00-7.50 go to the clearance aisle

Wrong thread, but I love the gingerbread house holiday set
