Awesome. I am getting several of those from DCBS this week too. The ones that will go to the top of my read pile will be the Wonder Woman '77 #2, Back to the Future #1, Doctor Strange #1, and Paper Girls #1.
However, what makes this probably the one shipment I've looked forward to most all year is that this shipment is supposed to include the following:
Starlight tpb vol 1, Mad's Original Idiots Complete Collection, Steve Gerber Man Thing Complete Collection Vol 1, and... Werewolf By Night Omnibus
I was looking at my next dcbs box. Man I'm excited Get Jiro Blood and Sushi (I loved the first Get Jiro story) Multiversity Dlx Ed ( I've been wanting to read this for months)
I didn't get any official comics (DCBS shipment has not arrived yet for October) but I did get the first physical copy of a comic I wrote and put together (with art by various) showcasing Marvel Universe-style a bunch of characters from the deviantArt community...
I got the He Man and the Masters of the Universe mini comic collection.
I know it is just comics packaged with toys of varying quality but I am not sure how anyone is going to make money off this book if people preordered it. Over 1200 pages and with the DCBS discount it was $15.
Just got back in town to see a big ol' DCBS box on my front porch!!
Back To The Future #1 Captain America White #2 & #3 Darth Vader #10 & #11 Doctor Strange #1 Fade Out #1 Fight Club 2 #6 Future Proof #7 Grumpy Cat #1 Hip Hop Family Tree #2 & #3 Invincible #124 Journey to Star Wars the Force Awakens #2, #3, #4 Paper Girls #1 Red Sonja Conan #3 Secret Wars Official Handbook of Marvel Multiverse #1 Shield #1 Star Wars #10 Star Wars Lando #5 Starlight TP Vol 01 Twilight Children #1 Weirdworld #5 Wonder Woman 77 Special #2
But the 3 items that came in that I'm MOST excited about were: Mad's Original Idiots Complete Collection Man-Thing By Steve Gerber Complete Collection Werewolf By Night Omnibus
I seriously don't need anymore comics to read for quite a while...
Dcbs is shipping today. I've not been this excited for a dcbs order in a long time
Avengers Perez/busiek Omnibus vol 2 Get Jiro vol2 Battlepug vol 4 Multiversity HC Sandman Overture HC Mouse Guard RPG Box Set ( I'm still kicking myself for not getting the first edition) DC Presents Lois and Clark 100 page spectacular ( these are great to lending or give away)
Since I primarily preorder new material from DCBS my Comic Wednesdays these days generally consist of back issue hunting, mostly in the 25¢ to $1 range. Here are the gems I picked up today at a pair of local flea markets: Captain Universe/Hulk #1, Captain Universe/Daredevil #1, Captain Universe/X-23 #1, Captain Universe/Invisible Woman #1 and Captain Universe/Silver Surfer #1 - I picked these up because the concept seemed interesting and also because Carlos Magno provided art for a couple of the issues.
GeNext: United #1 - I know many people are quick to dismiss Claremont's later X-related work. I am not. Claremont is my second favorite comics scribe after J.M. DeMatteis and I will buy anything that his name is attached to. ESPECIALLY X-related books. Personally, I wish he'd come back to the titles for another twenty year run.
Amazing Heroes #92 - This issue includes a ten page history of Dazzler AND an article about intentionally funny super heroes that makes reference to Thunder Bunny! It's as if it were printed just for me.
I'm still waiting for my DCBS box. In the meantime my wife and I paid a visit to Golden Eagle today and perused the bins. I purchased the following:
Animal Man #39, 70-71 Ball And Chain #1 Before Watchmen: Dr. Manhattan #4 The Black Lamb #1-6 Bloody Mary #1 - This is the Garth Ennis book published by DC's Helix imprint. Cinder And Ashe #1 ClanDestine #3 - This is from the first ClanDestine series from the 90's. Dragon Prince #1 Excalibur Vol. 1: Forging The Sword TPB GeNext #1 JLA: Classified #4 JLA: Gatekeeper #1-3 - @Adam_Murdough This is the Timothy Truman series I was telling you about earlier that I couldn't remember the title of. Manifest Eternity #1 The Marvel Masterpieces Collection #4 - I don't usually buy stuff like this but I found it in one of the 25¢ bins and it contains an awesome painting of Dazzler. The Ring Of The Nibelung Book Three: Siegfried Star Trek #4 (Gold Key series) - This issue includes a page entitled "Jokes On You" that printed jokes contributed by readers. The first joke on the page is not, however, provided by a reader. It is instead told by a character called Gold Key Kid in a four panel strip. "What is the largest room in the world? Room for improvement!!" I'm convinced the creators of the Gold Key Star Trek series were restricted from this room during their tenure on the book. Wakka wakka! Walter Koenig's Things To Come #1-2 - Things not to come: issue #3. Wildstorm Summer Special X-Factor #47
My wife also purchased a few things:
Disney Kingdoms: Seekers Of The Weird #3 Memorial #2-3 Ray Bradbury Comics Spaceman Special: Martian Chronicles Rise Of The Magi #3-4
I had some Christmas money burning a hole in my pocket so I stopped by one of the local flea markets today to do some back issue bin diving. Here's what I found:
The Fury Of Firestorm Annual #2 Legends Of The DC Universe #33 - J.M. DeMatteis writing the Spectre. Sold. The Power Company: Bork #1 The Power Company: Josiah Power #1 The Power Company: Manhunter #1 The Power Company: Sapphire #1 The Power Company: Skyrocket #1 The Power Company: Striker Z #1 The Power Company: Witchfire #1 Showcase #63 & 65 - Both of these issues are Inferior Five stories. The Masked Swastika from #63 is comedic gold. Hanged for war crimes, he was cut down "for goot behavior!" He becomes the leader of super-villain group Vendetta after flailing on the floor and threatening to "t'row such a temper tantrum!"
My DCBS order arrived today and the wife and I also paid a visit to the cheap bins at a local flea market and our LCS. Thus I present: The DCBS/Cheap Bin Double Feature Picture Show.
DCBS:
Descender #8 Doctor Who: The Ninth Doctor #5 Grant Morrison's 18 Days #6 Harrow County #8 The Humans #10 Justice League 3001 #7 Klaus #2 Nameless #6 Red Thorn #2 Ringside #2 Sinestro #18 Skylanders Superchargers #2

In the first ten issues of her first solo title she beat Enchantress, Doctor Doom, Nightmare, the Hulk, the Enforcers, Klaw and freaking Terrax! Who's she up against in this issue? Tatterdemalion. *sigh* Somewhere in the Marvel Multiverse there exists an Earth where Danny Fingeroth never left Dazzler and it went on to reach issue #1,000. Green Lantern Corps Quarterly #6 Justice League #4-6, International #12, 15-17 & 22 & America #22 Larfleeze #3 Leonard Nimoy's Primortals #12 Moonshadow #3 - This is from the Epic printing. Tangent Comics/Wonder Woman #1 Thunder Bunny #1 - This is the Red Circle issue. In the same parallel universe that allows Dazzler to reach issue #1,000, Thunderbunny makes it out of the 80's. Then he and Dazzler team up with Destroyer Duck in a story written by Steve Gerber. It's glorious. I'm going to buy a summer home in that universe. The Uncanny X-Men #332 & 335 The Wedding Of Popeye And Olive #1 X-Factor #97, 100-103 & 105 X-Men #55 & 56 Young Justice #1, 16 & 1,000,000
Also, my wonderful wife bought me a copy of The DC Comics Guide To Writing Comics by Denny O'Neil. It's my dream to write and publish a comic of my own one day and she thought this would be a nice piece of reference material for me to get started. This is easily the best thing I got today.
A pretty quiet trip to my LCS today. Picked up some new stuff and hit the 25¢ bins. Here's what I got.
New: Green Lantern Corps: Edge Of Oblivion #1 Lantern City #9
From the bins: Dazzler #1 - One issue away from completing my Dazzler run! Some people take pride in owning every issue of The Amazing Spider-Man. I'll settle for 42 issues of my favorite roller-skating mutant rock star. Defenders Of Dynatron City #3 & #6 - The cover to issue #3 features a blue monkey, named Monkey Kid, dressed as a cowboy riding a robot bull while a character with a hammer for a head, named Toolbox, dressed as Davy Crockett watches from behind a fence. For those of us who thought The Wild West C.O.W.-Boys Of Moo Mesa were too subtle... Generation M #1 Justice League Dark #5 Leonard Nimoy's Primortals #9 Mickey Spillane's Mike Danger #7 Wednesday Comics #2
