Debuting January 19, immediately after “Marvel’s Captain America: 75 Heroic Years” which will reportedly unveil an exclusive announcement from Marvel comics.
I just rewatched the first season, or rather finished watching the first season. I have to say, I enjoyed it much more this time around. There were still elements that didn't quite work for me, but overall I think it was much better than I originally gave it credit for. Though I think I may wait until this new season is over before watching it, as binging it seemed to work better for me.

Did you like the inclusion to the precursor (or make the infancy stage) of the Black Widow program?
I like the set up we've gotten for the future of the MCU. I'm hoping Violet is another Dottie Underwood type operative. It'd be a nice way for their organization to try & infiltrate the SSR. Plus, I'm holding out for Sousa to be the "disabled war vet Cap saved" that went on to be Peggy's husband.
Has it ever been mentioned when Shield was created in the MCU? Right now, Peggy still seems to be treated pretty low by superiors. Something is going to have to happen that causes her to rise up in the ranks. (Hopefully the creation of Shield happens in this series - maybe a later season if it gets renewed again)

I don't believe there was a specific year, only after the SSR ended. I'm under the impression the government is getting ready to shutdown the SSR now (I think that was created to fight the Nazis), so possibly as the Cold War begins so will SHIELD.

Well, I liked Dottie. And the episode in Russia. But the Black Widow program isn't inherently interesting to me. Like, if they never revisited it, I wouldn't care.
As for this season, I ended up watching the 2-episode premiere, and liked it. I agree it was much better paced than the start of last season. But Hydra? I'm so tired of Hydra. Why couldn't they have explored Leviathan more deeply (since it seems that they, or at least Dottie, are working against them). It just feels like Hydra is a train wreck because of why they have turned into on AoS. I get that we have to see how they infiltrated Shield, but they have become played out for me.
Off to an even better start than Season 1. I too loved the pacing, and as with the first season, I loved the music. It's still my favorite of all the comic-related TV shows.

Leonard was a master of his craft.
Ellroy is a crazed genius.
