"Marvel's Agent Carter" TV Show (SPOILERS)

Anyone else watching? Through 3 episodes I'm enjoying it very much, as is my wife, much to my (pleasant) surprise. The Agent Carter / Jarvis relationship is great and gives the show an excellent opportunity for Hayley Atwell to show off her comic side (comic as in "ha ha" as opposed to the Marvel variety). Love the hokey "Golden Age" comic type gadgets plus they did a nice job with the 1940s look. Not to mention, they do a decent job of capturing the sexism of the era in the way her co-workers talk down to her, etc.



What does everyone else think?

On another thread I had posited a tinfoil hat idea that the Leviathan was actually someone or something from present day attempting to manipulate events in the past. I've since sobered up, but I thought it would have been really cool that if that were the case that Peggy learns at the end that Cap had actually survived and is alive in well in 2015.

I'm also beginning to suspect that her friend, the waitress (whose name I can't remember but she played Ted Moseby's future daughter on HIMYM) is a spy too, and is there to look after Agent Carter. I doubled down on this at the end of this past episode when Peggy shows up at the diner following whats-his-face's death, and the music playing over the scene was "Someone to Watch Over Me."

SPOILERS ...

In the Marvel publishing universe, Leviathan debuted in a 2010 issue of “Secret Warriors,” a series starring Nick Fury (played by Samuel L. Jackson in the Marvel cinematic universe).

The organization was born post-World War II in the Soviet Union. Think of it like an Eastern Bloc Hydra, the villainous group from “Captain America: The Winter Soldier.”

Leviathan involved placing 100,000 of Russia’s best soldiers in deep freeze, to be thawed out when needed. There was also an element involving alien technology that could create super soldiers, sort of like Communist Captain Americas.

Would be cool if we get a Bucky cameo out of it

I enjoy it but I hope one of the girls is a spy to join them. Just needs a spunky younger Yank point of view to offset the dry Brit wit.

I love the show. it has a nice mix of story and action. It never really drags.

Supposedly it is just doing "average" numbers in the ratings so who knows if we will get a second season. Although with the success rate of networks now, it is hard to tell anymore what they will keep on the air.

I really like the filler schedule for this series. I think that's what help it work & could cement a second season.

Still think Souza is the future Mr. Agent Carter.

Anyone familiar enough with Peggy & Jarvis to know if they are creating stuff on the fly (like how JARVIS came into the employ of Stark) or are they pulling from source material?

Pretty sure Jarvis wasn't married in the comics.

Yeah, I never remember Jarvis being married in The Avengers comics, but then again he was always old so he could easily be a widower.

Jarvis, in fact, wasn't even really British in the comics -- he hailed from Flatbush. He affected the British accent and air in order to acquire and keep the position of butler.

This site does a great job of tracking that stuff and they have it as a likely renewal.

It's a diner/cafe and automat isn't it? As a long time kitchen guy, it doesn't make sense to me to have the open window to the kitchen if it's only an automat.

I agree. It makes no sense.

The whole point to an automat was self-service. The only staff person out front would be a cashier making change in nickels.
