Damn they canned The Ringer. I really got into that. It did take a while to build up steam so I can understand why they got rid of it but still a 2nd season would have been great.
I wish they would end Supernatural. Don't get me wrong it's not a bad show but it just feels past it's prime.
I so want Arrow to be good but I just having a nagging feeling that it's not going to be. I think partly due to me being such a Smallville fan.
ABC‘s two bubble midseason drama series are heading in opposite directions. Shonda Rhimes’ Scandal, which just inched up in the ratings last night, is being renewed for a second season, while GCB is being canceled. (ABC’s third midseason drama River, has been dead for awhile.)

The only property from Disney-owned Marvel still in active development at ABC is Hulk, which was set up one and half years ago with Guillermo Del Toro and David Eick attached. Lee said the project will be in consideration for the next pilot cycle. I hear Del Toro is still on board. ABC has passed on the Aka Jessica Jones adaptation whose writer, Twilight‘s Melissa Rosenberg, has a new series on ABC, Red Widow.
Am I the only one watching the Aquabats Supershow on the HUB? Saw an episode last weekend and like all good kids shows it works on two levels. One level it is a show about a rock band that happens to fight evil. And on the other level it is a parody/homage to all the Krofft 70s live action shows. It looks like this up coming April 1st the Hub is having a marathon of this show plus the new Transformers Rescue bots cartoon.
I was watching the show on Dailymotion until ... someone put a stop to it. Loved it! But, I'm biased. I've been a fan of the Aquabats! since 96.
I haven't been very happy with what I've seen of the second season. It seems like a lot of set up and set up in an HBO series seems to mean spice channel style sex. Theon Greyjoy is especially annoying when delivering a political soliloquies while laying pipe.
Sir, I am giving you a +1 for the phrese "laying pipe" it's not often I hear it. Good on you.
I've only seen ep 1 of S2 so I can't really chime in but based on just ep1 I'd have to say the season seems like it would be better than S1. Perhaps you should watch eps back to back to get a better feel for it?
The mass of new shows really just reveals how lost in the weeds NBC still is.
Go On: Had some nice/funny moments in the trailer ("We should call it March Sadness" is my favorite line of all the new show trailers). Its getting some confusion with "Next Caller" cause both characters are Radio personalities (though it looks like Go On doesnt spend much time on this part. Go On feels like a nice drama-dy. Funny but with touching moments. Could be feel good, could be one note.
Save Me: Anne Heche is unwatchable in the trailer to me, and the show makes no sense. It reads like a pitch that has no arc to it.
The New Normal Another nice drama-dy (is that what NBC is going with? They are the Drama-dy network?) Worried that it plays well on the coasts and dies in the middle and south. I love the cast, and it looks like it has the potential for funny and heart.
Chicago Fire Dick Wolf apparent finally got a restraining order from all police everywhere, so he turns his infatuation Firemen. Be ready for Chicago Fire: Arson Unit fall of 2014!
Animal Practice Monkeys are funny, animals in general are funny. I didnt think the lead actor was (at least in the trailer)
Next Caller What happens when the Employee of the Month gets a job as a shock jock? I dont watch it, thats what. One note, and Jeffrey Tambour cant save this (though he'll make it tough not to watch)
Do No Harm most unrevealing trailer of them all. no idea what this is, but if it goes in the Grimm direction I'll pass.
Guys With Kids Feels like a pitch after someone watched the screener of "What to Expect" and thought the dad's part was funny. It was, when juxtaposed against the moms... this looks cringy.
1600 Penn Looks like a prank per episode kind of show that will get repetitive fast. we'll see.
Looking forward to: Go ON, The New Normal, Hanibal (no trailer) Passing on: Next Caller, Chicago Fire, Guys with Kids
What about Revolution? I'm a big fan of Eric Kripke's and this is the first Abrams show I've been interested in since Lost.
It's not listed and won't premiere until March, but Crossbones also sounds interesting. It's a 10-episode pirate drama based on a novel by Colin Woodard called The Republic of Pirates. It's set on a Bahamian island in 1715 and follows Edward "Blackbeard" Teach and "Black Sam" Bellamy, who attempt to set up a functioning society of thieves and outlaws. An assassin named Tome Lowe is sent to infiltrate the island and take down Blackbeard, but finds it more difficult than expected as he comes to respect Blackbeard and his ideals.
Neil Cross, who created the BBC's Luther, will serve as writer and executive producer.
It's Messy is a single-camera comedy starring Mindy Kaling as a doctor trying to navigate both her personal and professional lives.
Ben & Kate is a comedy about a free spirited guy who, under the guise of being his niece’s nanny, moves in with his tightly wound sister and in the process will help her re-enter the world. It stars Nat Faxon and Dakota Johnson.
The Goodwin Games is a comedy about a father who leaves his fortune to his 3 children only if they agree to his terms. It stars Becky Newton and Scott Foley.
The Mob Doctor is a drama starring Jordana Spiro as a thoracic surgeon who is in debt to the South Chicago mob.
The Following is a thriller about an ex-FBI agent who leads the search to catch a diabolical serial killer who has created a cult of serial killers. It stars Kevin Bacon, James Purefoy and Shawn Ashmore.
Fox only has 5 new shows? Feel the power of Idol!
It's Messy: Love Kaling, we'll see how her voice translates to tv. Always wanted more of her on the office. Worry is that 22 minutes could be to much...
Ben & Kate Just keep thinking Owen Wilson, so we'll see if that goes away before the show does. 5 year old kids are cute though!
The Goodwin Games Comedy I'm most looking forward to this fall. Perfect cast. Great concept. Could go far...
The Mob Doctor And in the other direction... Horrible title, thin concept, ugh...
The Following Kevin Bacon works in this role. The trailer was great, and it goes from "how will they make this a full season" to "oh my god this could go on a while and the longer it goes the more crazy-awesome it gets!" Only worry is if the drama/emotion gets over-manufactured.
Looking forward to: The Goodwin Games, The Following Passing on: Mob Doctor

It's definitely had a greater departure from the original material than the first season. I've got mixed feelings.
I was surprised that they kept CSI: NY and not Miami, since Miami makes SO much more money in syndication and gets better overall ratings. Anyone heard why they kept one and not the other?

Elementary will replace The Mentalist on Thursdays, pushing Patrick Jane & Co. to Sundays at 10/9c, which had been home to CSI: Miami the past two years. CBS canceled the series Sunday after 10 seasons, choosing to renew fellow spin-off and bubble show CSI: NY instead. "We really liked The Mentalist at 10 [on Sundays] and unfortunately that just meant Miami was the odd man out," Kahl said.
"It was a very tough choice. It was almost a jump ball. It was just about servicing the schedule," CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler added. "[Miami's and NY's costs] were very close. ... It was a matter of looking at the schedule and what worked the best."
^Also, look at Friday's schedule for next season. CSI: NY, Made In Jersey and Blue Bloods. All 3 dramas are set in New York. She says it was a matter of looking at the schedule and seeing what worked best. I'm guessing they felt that NY theme worked best, so they chose NY over Miami.

I get the feeling CSI NY is cheaper to make than CSI Miami is. Plus really NY is a much better show. Mainly cause it doesn't have Caruso.

Thanks, @tazmaniak. I don't know why I left that out.
