Sorry, but this kinda hits close to me. My Brother and his wife have spent the last few months searching for a house and have been watching a lot of this show for tips.
Being in construction and watching these shows on HGTV is a nightmare. I can't stand them and so I am not surprised to find this out. The way the producers/editors fake the drama is crazy.
I figured it was well know that most reality shows are faker than actual reality. Crap they are faker than pro wrestling.

Is it just me or does it seem like HGTV is porn for middle age women? Every female I know over the age of 50 loves that channel.
HBO has halted production of all Game of Thrones blu-ray and DVD box sets, and will be re-issuing them with edited versions. HBO has also pulled Game of Thrones episode 10 from iTunes, and temporarily removed it from any planned rebroadcasts. The uproar is over the confirmation that a decapitated head on a stick which can be spotted in season 1 episode 10 was actually a replica of George W. Bush's head. The production company claims the head was only used because it was what the show's producers happened to have on hand (as opposed to a political statement). Irregardless of intent, HBO has decided the image will no longer appear in future releases.
Beats me! I started on season one after it was done but totally enjoyed it. If there is a season two, I'm down for it.
Also I never hear people talking about Falling Skys which, I personally think is what the reboot/remake/reimagining of V should have looked like.
Also, on a completely unrelated note. I was shopping at my local Goodwill store today (that's how I roll) in beautiful metropolitan Pekin, IL. And I found not only a CGS t shirt but also an episode 300 t shirt. So what I wanna know is...which one one of you geek bastards lives in my hometown!

Falling Skies is a good show. Way better than that horrible V remake.
Yeah, I agree. Bi really wanted to line the V remake because I loved the old show so much but it didn't ever rate more than a C, C+ of I'm feeling generous.
I actually liked The Cape, I'm slightly embarrassed to say. I know it was cheesy and a terrible reperesentation of what comic books are in the modern world but I loved it. It felt like an 80's show to me. 12 year old me overrode the critical thinking portion of my brain.

Yup, it was cancelled.
Awake premiered in the United States on NBC on March 1, 2012, as a mid-season replacement for The Firm. By late May, Awake had averaged only 4.8 million viewers per episode and was 125th in Nielsen ratings. It was canceled after eleven of the thirteen produced episodes were aired, although it still finished airing its remaining episodes. Despite the series' relatively short life span, it has had large fan support campaigns who teamed up to create the "Save Awake" campaign, and it was well received by television commentators, particularly episodes "Pilot" and "Say Hello to My Little Friend".
Anybody watch season 1 of Awake? I was happily surprised.
Did the same thing as you. Just finished watching as well and really enjoyed it, though part of that was Fez in a non-comedic role.

Don't know who that would be, but I'm Central Illinois as well, though a bit east of you. Neither of them are mine. Maybe Goodwill is attempting to distribute to the poor benighted masses unable to attend?

I understand completely, and felt the same way. I knew it was bad, but I enjoyed the show a lot, and was sad when it was axed so quickly.
The comic book men show after Walking Dead on AMC on the other hand is offensively terrible and almost painful to watch. I feel like that joker reinforces and magnifies every negative geek stereotype there is.
@random73 and @EarthGBilly I really enjoyed the Cape with the exception of Summer Gule;that chick can not act to save her life and her "hotness" is vastly over rated. The show felt like a late golden age, maybe, sliver age book and that's kinda why I liked it. Also the characters were neat.
As for ComicBook Men,I'm not a fan of the non "skit" parts. The customers feel too staged. To me it's as if they are being fed lines that they can't seem to recall. Now the "skits" and them sitting around the poker table and chatting is what I like. It's very much like their podcast Tell Em Steve Dave just without all the fun mean spirited nature.
How in the hell did Unforgettable get picked up? It's such a bad show that relies to heavily on one plot device. It's dull and repetitive more than anything Ive seen in the last few seasons.
Unforgettable-Carrie Wells, A former NY Police detective who has a rare medical condition that gives her the ability to visually remember everything. She rejoins the force and uses her ability to solve crimes. That's pulled from IMDB
The thing is she uses her condition as a playback feature and can zoom in/out and pan all around more than once per ep and after a few times you realize the writers can't figure out a way to solve these so call mysteries that they created without the help of an Easy Button. The show is so bad I'm not even gonna mention that it stars a good looking red head.
What they need to do is hit the protagonist on the head to lessen her superpower because you just know that everything is going to be wrapped up in a nice little package in 42mins.
I stopped watching around ep5 so I don't know if they toned her ability down at all.

I watched 2 episodes and found it to be like most dramas on broadcast tv. Badly written with sub par acting.
It was badly written but the acting was normal. Sure it had some weak players but a few of them were good. I can't recall names but the old Det. was good. The red head was all right.

Poppy Montgomery I think is the red head. And to me she is a horrible actress. But I have been told I have very weird tastes.
I liked Poppy Montgomery much better when she was the hot blonde on Without a Trace.
I really enjoyed The Cape as well despite its cheesyness. I love Keith David (or is it David Keith I can never remember) in anything, plus the little person who is in all the comedy central stuff. The villains were pretty decent with the crazy guy from trueblood and a two episode arc had the tall scary guy who was the killer in Manhunter (the original Hannibal Lecter movie).
These channels include MTV, Nickelodeon, VH1, Comedy Central, BET, CMT, TV Land, Spike TV and all associated networks.
Does anyone here have DirecTV?
This seems to happen every 2 years. DirecTV and Dish Network will drop some channels for 4 or so weeks, then bring them back and raise the prices. Right now Dish has dropped AMC and 3 or 4 other channels.
While watching Workaholics last night, I saw that both DirecTV and Viacom had crawls dominating the lower 1/4 of the screen. I don't know enough about the business to have any idea as to who's in the right, but it doesn't make either side look good when they drag the consumer into the middle of it.
Seeing as how I only watch the same half dozen channels, I dream of a day when I can just pay for what I want.
Incursion, described as Halo meets Band of Brothers, is a sci-fi action thriller about a group of soldiers fighting a war against a hostile alien race. Each season will take place on a different planet, as the soldiers move deeper into enemy territory. The show will feature the same gritty violence and complex characters found on Spartacus, but on a more cosmic scale.
J. Michael Straczynski is teaming up with horror producer Roy Lee (The Ring/ The Grudge) and horror/fantasy producer Rob Tapert (Evil Dead/Xena/Spartacus) for Vlad Dracula. The show follows his evolution from a revered ruler to the world's most feared vampire, and his slow downfall as he struggles desperately to hang on to his humanity, his wife and his kingdom. Vlad Dracula will blend the historical facts of the 15th century Prince of Wallachia with the fictional Dracula.
