Yeah, I almost wish I could come up with a less cliched, more unique choice of least favorite song, but everything about it is so dreadful.
There is worse.
You
Light
Up
My
Life
Maybe so.
But I also never hear that on the radio anymore. Or anywhere, for that matter. Odd, for such a big song, you'd think I'd hear it in a grocery store or something, at least once every few years, but I honesty can't recall having heard it in the last 20 years.
And, years ago I read something that put forth the theory that the song is actually about a woman achieving orgasm for the first time, so I at least get a laugh out of that when I think of that song.

Collective loathing?
I think it may be one of those enormously popular songs that we as a society simply said "Okay, enough is enough. No one honestly wants to hear this anymore, right?"

I would like to add: Reunited (and it feels so good)
I remember going to a great Violent Femmes concert many years ago, yet at the end of the show I felt pity for those dudes. They have so many awesome tunes, but 90% of the crowd were only there to hear "Blister in the Sun". They HAD to play it, otherwise there would have been a riot. Sad that they had been reduced to that one song, they were condemned to play every night for the rest of their career. It was years after the release of that album, many songs later, and that was years ago, hundreds (if not thousands) of gigs to come, going through the motions of "Here is the one you came for!".
You could see the distain on their faces as they plunked it out.
...I'm sure many of us could do this all day. Bottom line is they probably have specific reasons for these selections or they got a great deal on the licensing :)

I met them when they were touring to support their second album. Even then, it was hard to authentically perform the angry teen songs since they had become rock stars.
I attended the IMAX 3D sneak peek showing. I have to admit, the 3D accentuated the 17-minutes they showed, and I'm someone who tends to save $ by opting for 2D. This is one, I'm definitely going to have to splurge on come August.
In addition to a 17 minute prison escape scene, we also were shown the following new trailer:
So, what did you think overall? Posters at other websites seem to have came out of it with much higher expectations for the movie than they had going in.
Whenever my wife, who couldn't care less about comic book movies, wants to see one, I figure it's going to do well.
She's been asking me every week for the last two months when Guardians is coming out. She actually made me roll the DVR back while skipping commercials to see a trailer the other night.
I thought this was a mistake when it was first announced, but they've done a great job of building anticipation for it.
Comments
DC: "The new creative team on Wonder Woman is awesome!"
WR: "Said the man who really, really digs "The Pina Colada Song".

Not what I would call an "awesome" mix, but I can't wait to see how these tunes and the scenes they're used for sync up.

OMG
It has taken almost 40 years to forget that song has ever existed and just when I thought it was safe you had to go and remind me.
Then again, I'm a bit of a dumbass.
