Hey y'all long time listener my OCD is in full force as I have recently went back to the where it all began. Up to Episode 28, where the guys just announced the winner of their first contest (putting together a 30 second soundbite of the show, for $100.00 worth of TPB's and Hardcovers) Just wanted to say hello and let you all know that I'm still around after almost 3 years, just not very active in the forums. I wish you all well, and look forward to reading everyone's thoughts about the next 1,500 episodes...I just wish Murd would crank out his time bubbles on a more frequent basis. Have a fantastic Thursday everyone!

Hi all, I'm old time listener (since about 2006) and I've been away a long time due to changes in my life. Recentlt I've started back at the gym and also restarted listening to CGS again. The show has mostly stayed the same although I'm still trying to work out who some of the "newer" presenters are! Absolutely gutted about the passing of Jamie D :(.
Hope everyone is ok, and I hope to stick around this time.
    All the best.

    1. I have grey hair
    2. My favourite comic ever is Incredible Hulk #467
    3. Tommy Boy is based on my life story.

Hi, my name is Aaron and I've been a listener of CGS for about 8 years. I particularly like the episodes that cover certain eras of a title.

    2 truths... And a lie:

    1. I am 23 years old.
    2. My Dad ran for mayor in our home town several times.
    3. I was hit by a postal service vehicle, and walked away with only a cut.

    Hey friends!
I'm new to the forums and this is my first post. I've been into CGS for about a year now, but in that time I've listened to a ton of the older podcasts along with all the new ones. I live in NYC so I do a lot of walking with the Iphone on. I really dig all the podcasts, but I really love the spotlights which cover characters from the golden/silver age all the way to today. Daredevil, Uncanny X-Men, FF...I am currently in the process of completing my Amazing Spidey run from issue 90 of Vol. 1 all the way up till last Wednesday's ASM vol. 4 issue 2. (Only need 4 more books till it's complete.) Once I read them all I'll check out Spidey's spotlight.
My first comic was Avengers 318 that my Father bought me when I was about 8. I picked it off of a spinner rack at a deli in Lake Peekskill, NY. I've been hooked since. I am really big into almost everything Marvel(I collect a lot of Marvel!!!!) Some DC nowadays like Batman, Grayson, B&R Eternal as well as JL. (Darkseid War is killing it right now!) I also like a lot of Image books like TWD, Chew, Outcast, Saga and a few others.
I am not gonna do the truth and lie thing bc I have rambled too much as it is on here! Love the CGS podcast, and I look forward to talking comics on here with everyone!

Hi everyone! New listener here - have been enjoying the podcast for a couple of months now, particularly a lot of the old spotlight episodes.

After being away from comics for a very long time, I have spent much of 2015 reading many books and titles I've always been interested in. A lot of "required reading" like the Fourth World Saga and Sandman, a whole bunch of Bronze Age Marvel titles (particularly the horror books), and some manga here and there, notably Attack on Titan which I LOVE.

I have been struggling to get back into newer titles since it's frustrating feeling like you're jumping in "mid-stream," but I am currently enjoying Paper Girls. Here's hoping to get some good recommendations from the forums!

Two Truths and A Lie - Animal Edition

1.) I once touched the tail of a six-foot alligator in the wild.
2.) A bird flew into my head once, like Elaine on SEINFELD.
3.) One time a baby stingray stabbed my foot and I had a star-shaped scar for several years.

Old listener, new user name, partly because I couldn't seem to log in using Facebook anymore and partly because I was tired of my old user name and ready for a new one.

Since I learned to read in 1975 I've been in and out of comic books a number of times but I have been reading them consistently since 2002. Somewhere around 2005 I gave up on trying to keep up with the latest comic books and now a days mostly read back issues, some of which I have read before and some of which I have not. I started a podcast in 2013 after years of listening to CGS and other shows.

I am back after taking a break when the forum broke last. Some of you know me and some don't, so Hello! I'm Cory!! Strode. I do a comic podcast (just like everyone who started listening to the show in 2005-6), am an amateur comics historian, Kirby fanatic, and The Best Dressed Man In Comics.

    1) I once was mistaken for Brad Roberts (lead singer of the Crash Test Dummies) in a Karoke bar in N'Awlins and drank free all night after singing a Cars song
    2) My podcast just wrapped its 250th episode and no one was injured
    3) I have a tattoo of my favorite 80's indy comic: Grimjack

My love of the New Universe is more about concept than execution, although by the end it was an awesomely bad guilty pleasure in it's own right. The idea of every superpowered being in a comics universe being created by a singular event and aging the characters in real time is quite intriguing.

I was also 11 years old at the time and loved the idea of jumping onto a universe day one.

I still don't fully understand John Byrne's explanation of the White Event but I'm not sure John Byrne fully understands it, either.

Hello Geeks! My name is Mark Engblom, and I'm thrilled to be a new listener (and instant fan) of Comic Geek Speak! Can't believe I went this long without hearing about you! I've only been listening for a few weeks, but already realized you are far and away the best comic book podcast out there. Love the variety, love the energy, love the fun. I'm a professional cartoonist and operated a blog named Comic Coverage from 2006-2009 (during the peak "blog years"), which you can still find here.

    Two truths and a lie?

    1. I have every issue of "Superman" from issue #100 (1955) through 2011 (I got off the bus at the New 52 stop)

    2. When I was 10 years old, I won a new bike drawing Tony the Tiger for Kellogg's old "Stick Up For Breakfast" contest/promotion.

    3. Solomon Grundy born on Monday.

Hey everyone. I'm Tom. I was an avid reader in the late 80's/early 90's. I got out of the comic world shortly after the Death of Superman story. Quite honestly, the movies that have been released spark my interest in reading once again.

I have really gone nuts with titles. I read a ton of Marvel, Rebirth, and Indie titles each month. I'm an old school floppy guy. I'm not really into the digital content or trades (unless it's a story I am extremely interested in!) I've been doing a podcast with my friend for close to a year now talking comics and tv shows. It's a great time to be an avid reader.

I'm an old school Superman fan. I love the Rebirth Superman story going on at the moment (yes, I biased). However, the Aquaman Rebirth title has surprised me. It's amazing!!

    1. I work at NASA
    2. I loved Batman v Superman
    3. I think Superman Returns to be a great follow on to the originals.

Just joined the community after a few months of listening to the CGS podcast to get through the days at my office. I was an avid reader in the late 80 till early 2000s. Once I went off to college I didn't have the time or the resources to continue the hobby so I stopped reading for several years. It wasn't until about 2 or years ago I started reading again. Unfortunately there was a family emergency with my wife's family and we spent a lot of time in her grandparents home town. The town had a little comic shop that I went into one day and the love of the medium came back quite quickly. I'm a massive Batman, Spider-Man and Daredevil fan. Those are really the only books I read from Marvel and DC. I spend most of my time in Image titles my current favorites would include Deadly Class, Nailbiter, Chew, Manifest Destiny, Seven to Eternity, Monstress.... the list could go on and on. I'm extremely happy to be back into comics and reading some amazing stuff! Look forward to getting into this community!

    1. Being a huge Batman fan I talked my wife into naming our newest rescue dog Alfred since he looked like a little old man.

    2. As a Craft Beer fan I homebrew and name all my beers after super hero themes.

    3. I collect Hot Toys and review them on Youtube

Finally taking the plunge into the Forums after listening to the podcast for the last year (listening to everything since 2010). Look forward to hearing about what people are reading, loving and collecting.

    1) I once collected comics as a "retirement fund".
    2) The desire to track their value, helped me learn database scripting.
    3) I now use DB scripts in my "day job".

I have been listening for about 8 months. I wanted to thank you guys for taking the time to do the podcast. I appreciate that you don't go into a political rant or bemoan some other thing going on in the world at the time. You stick to the entertainment and fun of comic fandom, I tried other podcasts but yours is the one I tended to download each week. All of you are likable and genuine. It is a pleasure to listen to each episode! When Chris rips into Diamond, he is telling it like it is, and I LOVE it!
All of you do a great job, and I appreciate all of your thoughts on the medium.

I have been reading and collecting on and off for 35 years. I got back into comics when the Watchmen was made into a movie.

    1) I am a Baptist Preacher
    2) I published an indy comic called "Deuces High" in 1998
    3) I was the talk show host of "Diggin' Deep"
