In a more bizarre story my son has had some problems with his breathing, it's always been a little labored, but Sunday it was scary. My wife took him to the ER and they poked, proded, tested, gave him breathing treatments, did everything they could to figure out what was wrong. The doctors were going to send us to a bigger hospital, but before they did they called in a respiratory therapist. Turns out he has had a giant booger obstructing his breathing pathways since he was born. I learned babies only breathe through thier mouths when they are crying, so a raisin sized booger in a 5 week olds nose is a real dangerous situation.Im really not sure he would have survived the night if we didn't take him. He is now breathing better than the day he came home.

That is bizarre. Glad everything worked out, but now the poor kid is going to be stuck with the nickname “Booger” for the rest of his life.
    Yep. Poor little guy.

Facebook says this is trending right now (which is suspect to begin with): #GiveCaptainAmericaABoyfriend

These aren't comic book fans making this trend. It's lazy, wannabe fan-fiction writers crushing on Chris Evans and Sebastian Stan.

Your average comic book fan isn't campaigning for Steve to be gay/bisexual.

This is what internet users do. I'm all for having diverse characters in any medium, Ms Marvel was a great example. But I don't want at the expense of existing characters.

Ah, those crazy "hashtag activists." There they go again.

I was upset to get a cancellation notice from DCBS today for the new Superman: American Alien HC...to be solicited at a later time.

    First world problems, right?

I got my DCBS order today. In it was the 30th anniversary edition of the DC "Legends" mini series, which I have never read completely.

While flipping thru it - at issue four, all the panels just hit my memory. I forgot that I had this issue when it came out. I was getting comics at the local grocery store (mostly Avengers and G.I. Joe). I do not know for sure why I did not get any other issues of the series. I can only guess is was due to some combination of: the store selling mostly Marvel, the inventory being inconsistent month to month, and the ability of me getting comics at that time completely dependent on my mom and her frustration level with me and spending 75 cents for a picture book.

    Brought back some good memories.

Decades is running a binge of the Ron Ely, Tarzan TV program from the late 60's. As a child, I remember loving this. I'm watching it now thinking, "Where are all of the Africans?" If it didn't have the stock animal footage (btw, Asian Elephants? Really?), one would think that it's Tarzan of the Amazon.

I remember hearing that most of the Tarzan movies and such were filmed in Mexico and Brazil during the 60's to save money. I attempted to read a few of the Tarzan novels last year, because it was a cultural thing I just hadn't done...and was unable to make it through the second one. Some things just haven't aged well.

A few of those movies were filmed at wakulla springs, FL.
The only reason I know that is from field trips during elementary school.

It always bugged me as a kid when they used alligators instead of crocodiles. If a six-year-old could tell the difference, why couldn’t they?

Yes, I was aware enough to know the difference between alligators and crocodiles and their habitats and be a stickler about it (thanks Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom!), but not yet aware of Hollywood budgets.

Yeah. I actually kind of like Tarzan of the Apes, but that second book was awful. And Edgar Rice Burroughs' writing in general had a certain amateur quality to it that makes it hard to get through.

I'll wait back here behind this giant rock while Jim goes and untangles these two lions fighting.

I watched those reruns like crazy. I don't know how many hours I logged watching Wild Kingdom and Wild America (still my favorite intro the Eagle and those Rams )

It was Wild Kingdom followed by The Wonderful World of Disney every Sunday night when I was growing up. If you got a cartoon for TWWD, it was an awesome night.

Same at my house. Loved (Mutual of Omaha's) Wild Kingdom and the host, wildlife adventurist Marlin Perkins, but I was an even bigger fan of The Undersea World of Jacques Cousteau

I wanted to be Jacques Cousteau when I grew up. That was my go-to answer when adults would ask me, up until about 6th or 7th grade. I knew more about dolphins (I got Cousteau and Diolé’s book, Dolphins, for my 9th birthday) and octopuses than I did alligators and crocodiles.

I had a gift card to Barnes and Noble so I picked up volume 1 of the Floyd Gottftedson Mickey Mouse strips. I'm a big Disney fan but surprisingly it's one aspect I've never pursued

The Gottfredson stuff is pretty good, often on a par with Barks’ Donald and Scrooge work. It’s as much an adventure strip as it is a humor strip.

My copy of Master of Kung-fu Omnibus. This might be the perfect sized Omnibus I own. It comes in light enough to read on your lap, and with enough material not to feel cheated (just under 700 pages). I know Marvel can't do this with every book because story and series is different. This volume just happens to be perfectly sized.

After I finish the cable & Deadpool Omnibus I'm going to get on this

Ooh, I'm excited to get mine too. My DCBS ships the last week of the month, so I have another two weeks. Don't spoil it!!

Yup. I'm all in on this one and I was only a casual Voltron viewer back when it first came out. This one is a lot of fun.

With 15 minutes left on the new Voltron all I can say is that's some Robot Lion stuff right here.

I love me some Voltron. I've got the Lions that combine and the action figures with interchangeable heads. The DVDs in the tin cases (exuding Cartron). I loved Voltron and Gi Joe growing up.

Turns out my self-inflicted food poisoning that caused the worst stomach upheaval of my adult life was a 24 hour stomach bug. As I learned from my daughter starting at 3:15 am.

    Wonderful night.

    Wonderful night.

I got sick like that when I was a kid but into my teens and early 20's I can't remember ever throwing up. Then I had kids. The sickest I've ever been was about 3 days after my daughter started 1st grade.
