Went this past Wednesday to Memphis. After a visit to Sun Records we all agreed to goto Jerry Lawler's Hall of Fame Bar and Grill for a late lunch.
After finding a place to park about a block away we got to go into what I can only describe as wrestling mark heaven,well if you grew up in the deep south.
The place has plenty of cases like this full of not only Lawler's stuff but stuff given to him. Last Labor Day weekend worked a Hollywood Jimmy show. Which had Jimmy Hart managing Lawler. After the match Hart gave Lawler the pictured megaphone for the bar. http://i.imgur.com/WGZnCTz.jpg Growing up watching Memphis wrestling ever week,the Southern Heavyweight title was a huge deal. With recent events I am surprised they haven't moved the poster of Paige away from the AWA World Title belt that Lawler held. Lawler owns a 66 Batmobile. Heard sometimes he has it at the bar. At the back of the bar they have one of the thrones Jerry The King Lawler used on the weekly Memphis tv show. So had to grab a pic in it.
My predictions for WreslteMania. renovation Yes, I'm aware that the Smackdown Women's Championship 6-pack challenge has been moved from the Pre-show to the main show. Some minor home renovations forced me to record this on Wednesday which was before the change was made.
7 minutes is still an incredibly long match for Goldberg. Unless most of it is Lesnar beating him down, I cannot imagine what Goldberg will do for 6 mins of the 7.
If you are supposedly a top star in the company in 2017, and Shane McMahon kicks out of your finisher, you are not a top star and you have no finisher.
To his credit though, Shane gives his all and has no fear. It was a heck of a fight.
Goldberg vs Lesnar was the most enjoyable match with the fewest variety of moves I can remember (5 different moves - suplex, spear, jackhammer, leapfrog, F5)
Is Dean Ambrose good? That has been the question that I have asked since the shield broke up. I've been on the probably fence for most of that time.
But the answer is no; Dean Ambrose is not good. I hope he becomes a good WWE wrestler, but I'm not holding my breath.
Ambrose's strength lies in his promo ability and who he's in the ring with. Put him with someone like Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins, or AJ Styles; it works. Have him take on someone like Lesnar, or Corbin....not so much.
May 13th had to go do video work at a Pro Wrestling EGO show. They brought in Michael Elgin,Gary Jay and Davey Vega.
Sad thing was no one in the crowd knew who Elgin was. Elgin gets in the ring during intermission and is asking 5 bucks for a pic with him. No one is lining up. So the promoter came over to my gimmick table,slips me a 5 and tells me "Go get a pic with Mike".
Now one thing that I should mention is now at shows I have started wearing an Ultimo Guerrero mask. I put it on as soon as the doors are open and do not take it off until all the crowd is gone. So I go up to the ring. Pass the 5 to the guy taking money. Get into the ring then positioned Elgin and I so our backs were to the crowd. Took off my mask and got this pic.
About a month before this show got asked to goto Gulfport MS to film the Elev8 Pro show. So after the show got a quick pick with Rey Fury,one of the best wrestlers in the deep south.
Austin Aries will be great in NJPW. I really liked all TNA guys WWE has picked up over the last few years. They have been some of my favorite wrestlers.
Turn Charlotte full on heel have her run roughshod over the women win the belt and hold it for a few months while being a heel. Then on Smackdown have her come out and just bury the women in a heel promo and challenge the only opponent that ever worthy of steeping in the ring with her father, The Broomstick. Just heel up the fact The Broomstick is a better wrestler than any other woman on the roster.
