No second episode let down for me. I really enjoyed it and I'm happy how they are doing things. I enjoy the large cast and how the show is following multiple storylines. The couple using poisoned pins to kidnap homeless kids for food(maybe) was something straight out of a comic. I'm glad the show isn't being too "real world" focused and is willing to embrace the absurdity of Gotham's criminals.
Sometimes it's mind blowing to watch something, enjoy the hell out of it, and then find out the general consensus is negative.
I agree with @random73 -- you should like what you like, and don't worry whether it is the norm or not. It it wasn't divisive, then it wouldn't be entertainment*!
*And that is double-plus true for geeky entertainment.
I do and I don't worry. Sometimes it just surprises me when I enjoy something and others don't. It shouldn't ...I've gone to enough movies with my wife to know better.

That made me laugh. I thought of a whole bunch of Nicholas Sparks books! Eek gads!
Episode 2 was good but definitely miss titled since Selina was only it for like 10 minutes. But for the parts she was in was pretty good the actress is doing a good job so far. And I also think she kinda looks like a young Michelle Pfeiffer from Batman Returns.
Agreed on all of that paragraph. I thought the same thing when I noticed she had blue eyes.
The second episode was the right kind of creepy for me. The kidnapping couple seem like the kind creepy bad guy that would be hanging out in Gotham. It makes Gotham the kind of place that would birth so many crazy villains.
I thought the scene with the "injury" to the henchmen's eyes was a bit over the top last night. We let our 12 year old watch it with us and it freaked him out a bit. (Yeah, yeah ... I know, the show is "TV-14." I still think it was pretty gratuitous though.)
And as for Penguin look-a-likes, I submit newly fired Raiders HC Dennis Allen:
While the first episode was ok, this second ep was downright laughable. Honestly, who could take half this episode seriously w/o giggling or rolling their eyes? If I didn't known better I could've sworn I was watching a rerun of the old flash show. There were glimmers of something more from the couple of better actors on the show and moments that could have had promise, but damn this was just cliche, silly and awful.

Your comment specifically brought to mind that Fish Mooney "get out" scene. That was a little terrible.
Fish Mooney serves a purpose. You need characters you can definitively defeat or kill off on a show like this. So she'll probably stick around all season. If she's popular I imagine she'll go to jail and get the chance to come back once or twice before finally getting axed. And with the general audience she's been pretty well received... For some unknowable reason. I think her Eartha Kit impression is grating.
Soap opera fans may have recognized actor Grayson McCouch who played Thomas Wayne. He was "Dusty Donovan" for years on As the World Turns. Also, he will pop up in some Gotham flashbacks in the episodes ahead.
Saw the second episode last night (have not seen the first)
It was not good enough to love and not bad enough to hate. Fish Mooney was the only truly awful thing on the show. A lot of things felt forced.
If they keep showing episodes on Friday I will follow it for a while, but it is not worth watching on Mondays until the Big Bang Theory moves back to Thursday.

She's been well-received? how/where?
Man, are we out of touch :p
I do get that she serves a purpose. I hope she serves it soon enough so that Ozzy can rise!
It's cool that there bringing her in but God why as a love interest for Gordon? The forced relationship drama in the show is already the major thing I dislike about it and now there just making it worse.
Third ep was at least better than the 2nd. That's be best thing I can say about the show. There are moments of potential that are cool interesting and entertaining... then they stack mediocrety or garbage on either side of it. Wildly inconsistent quality on every front IMO.

Beyond that, loving this show so far.

The tone just felt off for some reason. Part of that may have been the music for me.
