Yeah that makes zero sense. Not everything in Batman universe is about The Joker. And what there clearly going to do is set up a bunch of potential Jokers but none of them will probably be him.
I thought tonight's episode felt more like Gotham than anything of the others so far. I liked little Bruce commenting on the totem the killer chose.
I dug pre-corruption Bullock. "He thinks he's a knight charging into the breach". I wouldn't want it in every episode but it added a nice bit of character.
One of the best takes I ever read on Bullock was in Batman: Earth One. I loved that version of the character, because you see him and you're like "That's not Bullock. At all." and by the end of it you're like "Oh shit...look what Gotham did to him."
I liked this most recent episode of Gotham as well. I liked seeing Bullock's background as a rookie on the force. It was interesting seeing his progression or I guess regression the longer he's been in Gotham. I thought Bullock's detecting skills was pretty good in this episode as well. The ending really was good and I hope it moves some pieces in a way that will make this show a tad more interesting. This episode was a good first start.
Binge-watched this yesterday and caught up. Enjoying it very much thus far. Don't know DC as well as Marvel, so I'm sure there are a lot of little easter eggs, etc that are flying over my head. Nonetheless, it's still a fun watch.
Haven't finished Flash or watched Arrow but this has been a week of very good episodes of Shield, Person of Interest and Gotham. Hopefully this where the writing starts to hit its stride.
Last night's episode got me hook, line and sinker. I loved Victor Zsasz in the episode. I liked seeing his kill count in the early stages. I also liked seeing Gordon FINALLY getting some allies other than Bruce and Alfred. I like seeing the relationship between Gordon and Bullock evolve and change and Penguin is still the best thing in this show.

This. I think the whole point of Gotham is the long game, so hopefully it'll last that long. Sure, it's showing why the city ended up needing a Batman, and I enjoy the bits with Alfred and the kid, but the real story here is Gordon. Instead of being corrupted by the city, Gordon's slowly but surely winning people to his side. Allen, Montoya, even Bullock. If the show is allowed to progress to its eventual end, I'm hoping it's Gordon walking into the Commissioner's office as someone's changing the name on it, the force now turned from corruption to the best and most overworked police force on the airwaves.
I think as many people have said, I want to see that as the last episode of the series. I think it works better that way. I do want to see him rise up the ranks. You know, I don't even know what his rank is at this point. Is he a Sgt. or Lt.? I have no idea. Even if he just gets to Captain before the end of the show, that would be fine with me. If I remember in Batman: Year One, I think Gordon is either Lt. or Captain and I just don't remember off the top of my head but I like where this show is going so I'm on board.
Oh. I want to call it now but I don't think Fish Moony is going to be around by the end of this series. I think she's in line to get offed at some point and I think it could be sooner rather than later.
Yeah - the big war is Falcone vs. Maroni with Penguin coming in to pick up the pieces on both of them. And that'll likely be the last episode for him as well...he's played everyone off against each other so well he ends up being the last man standing. Both he and Gordon will have risen to their pinnacles of power. Bruce is shipped off to college or whatever in that last season so he's only heard about, not seen...
To which THIS is my reaction: Please GOD let it be JUST the GRAYSONS sans Dick Grayson. PLEASE.
Reasoning to follow:
On the outside looking in, having characters from the Batman universe show up on the show is AWESOME. In a show WITHOUT Batman, more Batman-ish stuff seems awesome. But look at HOW they've been doing it so far. Doesn't it feel hamfisted in there to you? Cause it does to me. Arrow pulls CONSTANTLY from Batman, which is cool, but at some point, it gets a little "ugh" to me. Brother Eye most recently seems particularly forced.
Now don't get me wrong, I LOVE both shows. But the hamfisted is a criticism I definitely see from time to time and am comfortable talking about.
Let me ask you guys this, is it REALLY that important if she (Mrs. Grayson) has already had or is pregnant with Dick? Probably not. What matters is acrobats named Grayson. That's enough to get fanboys excited isn't it? So if that's enough, why FORCE Dick Grayson onto us if we ALREADY get the reference?
Now, lastly (and I can't believe I'm writing THIS much) I want to preface this by saying I'm a huge GL fan so I might be a little biased. But, to me, Gotham should be pulling some from Batman sure, but ALSO some from Green Lantern. By that I mean Alan Scott. Because, don't forget, before Batman became Batman, Alan Scott protected Gotham for a long time. Now maybe his rouges would be older or whatever, but there IS that established history to mine from.
The Last 3 episodes have really gotten me hooked. It's so much better now people know Gordon is a good Cop. Penguin is awesome as usual he's definitely going to kill Fish and I can't wait. And this last episode with Bruce and Alfred was great. I'm all in now.

Okay... that one probably wasn't called for. I just wanted to use it again ;)
