Hit the local Antique Mall. And the one booth that always has comics had been freshly stocked. The owner was there so as always talked to him for a bit. Then saw a huge stack of digest sized comics. Most of them were Archie stuff. But found a Hot Stuff,Casper and Richie Rich digests from the 90s revival of Harvey comics. Got those three plus 12 random Archie Digests for $15 total.

How are you liking Southern Bastards? I read the first two so far. Has a kind of JUSTIFIED feel to me.

Southern Bastards has been excellent. I haven't seen Justified, but for me the series feels like a better version of Walking Tall.

As an 'Bama resident for 25 years, I approve of this comic & want more ASAP. The final page of both issues has me wanting the next issue. What will happen next?

I know we've talked about this before, but I love searching amazon's omnibus selections. You can find some fantastic deals; I was able to the Avengers Omnibus vol 1 for less than $30 (same for New Warriors Omnibus vol 1 and the Darkness compendium vol 2). The Avengers Omnibus came still packaged in shrink wrap. I've bought 6/7 "used" Marvel Omnibuses this way and 75% of them still had shrink warp on them.

My wife and I actually were really excited that our favorite comic shop was opening back up after two weeks of being closed for a relocation, so we mostly hit the back issue bins and bought a ton of Alpha Flight and Excalibur. As far as off the shelf purchases, we were mostly playing catch-up with titles we'd missed issues of recently, so she bought Ms. Marvel #5 and Alex + Ada #6 and I bought Dream Police #3.

I bought 2 print #1's this week which I almost never do, and was looking for a third.

Rocket Racoon #1- a silly but fun issue
Spider-Man 2099 #1- Ok but not great (probably hurts that I stopped reading Dan Slott's Spider-Man with ASM #700)

And I really wanted to check out Grayson #1. I heard good things and it sounds like it's right up my alley, but the shop was sold out, which is actually another pretty good sign.

    Another Wednesday upon us.

    My purchases:
    Justice League 3000 #8
    Original Sin #5 & 6
    Silver Surfer #4
    Spider-Man 2099 #1
    Uncanny X-Men #23
    X-Men #16
And I picked up a Crossgen anthology called Forge for 2 bucks from a half-off bin that I'm going to let my wife, Sarah, borrow to give her a taste of what that company had to offer. Meanwhile, Sarah picked up:

    Shutter #3 & 4
    Ms. Marvel #6

Now for the most enjoyable part of every Wednesday: the reading!
