I'll second the Power Company kudos. It was a consistently good, though not necessarily outstanding, book. It got a little muddled the end, but that may have been the result of having to tie up the book for cancellation.

Shadowpact started out pretty strong, but slipped even before Bill left. It was still a decent book, but it felt like something was missing. I think I dropped it right around #18, maybe an issue or two earlier. Still worth reading for that price, though.

Shadowpact is pretty close to the best. Lawyers have special place in hell.

    Back Issue bundles:

DCs Power Company 1-18 and Shadowpact 1-18 for $8.00

Good purchases! I rather enjoyed Power Company when it came out; shame it never really caught on.
I've heard good things about both and enjoyed the Day of Vengeance precursor book. Though I am going to be the odd man out and say that Detective Chimp was my least favorite part.

I never really know what I'm going to walk out of this particular LCS with. He's got a whole lot of everything so I typically wait until he's running a sale - right now, it's 80% off on any two or more clearance bundles.

Shadowpact is a really good book. For that price a bargain. Can't beat a bit of Ragman.

Being a Marvel Zombie most of my life, I'm still exploring older DC and am excited to give these issues a read based on your thorough analysis and praise of them in that episode.)

That Superman vs Flash trade is a favorite of mine. The stories aren't earth-shaking or outstandingly brilliant, but there was always something cool about Superman racing the Flash. It's just... fun.

Last night I was excited to go to a very prominent comic shop in NYC. . . let's say it was in the Midtown area. It was my first time going there and boy was it a disappointment. The worst customer service I've come across in a long time.

I ended up walking out disappointed, even though I picked up, for sentimental reasons:

Daredevil 1.50 Varient Edition - Battling Jack Murdock

@UnderpaidTurtle that is a shame! I manage a small local comic shop, and customer service is our number one focus. We are small enough that if we are dicks, we won't be in business (not to mention, who wants to be a jerk everyday?). We will do anything for our regular customers, walk-ins, military members . . . You name it. We have even gone so far as to buy books from other sellers and have them shipped in for our customers. Even though we may break even or take a small loss once in a while, it's worth the couple dollars for them to come back. I am glad you found a sentimental book, and I hope that you don't have to get that treatment if you ever go back again.

Our industry is too small to be tainted like that.

@UnderpaidTurtle Never stand for crappy service. In NYC, there are way too many stores that want your money & worthy of the competition.

@mguy1977 @compsolut Yea I can assure you that I will not be going back there again. I actually live in Jersey and have a regular shop that I go to, but I wanted to see what all of the hubbub was about.

Also, that is certainly the right way of going about running a business. As you said, comics are a pretty niche market so there is no need to push customers away.

In other news, I picked up Bitch Planet #3. I am supper happy with this series and I hope that the team keeps it up.
