According to The Hashtag Show and MCU Exchange, the character of Shang-Chi will appear in the upcoming Netflix series. As they report in the below video, the production is looking at male actors of Asian descent to play the part.
It's a sweeping narrative that quickly reminds viewers of the dangerous, global events that will lead General Ross to create the Sokovia Accords in "Civil War," and how Steve Rogers and Tony Stark will each take polarizing sides in the fight.
I'm wicked late to this discussion, but I thought Rand should never have been castes with an Asian. An Asian martial artist seems just as cliche as the Daniel LaRusso idea.
If he wasn't cast as a Caucasian (which I don't think he needed to be), I probably would've gone with a Hispanic or Middle Eastern actor. It'd add more diversity to the MCU, without feeling like a cliche to add it.
Eh...I really hope he isn't going to be Pip the Troll. With modern technology there is no reason the character would need to be played by a little person.

It isn't actually "inspired" casting, but I like it. He seems perfect for Pip. You're right, @Mr_Cosmic, modern technology means there's no reason the character would NEED to be played by a little person, but who knows whether or not Peter has had a desire to actually play the character? It could be too on-the-nose because Mr. Dinklage is so recognizable, but he also may have been a fan for a long time. Let them have their fun.

I disagree. Couldn't we just as easily say with modern technology, actors don't have to work out or resemble a character?
How many (potentially) meaty characters are there for little people? Normally I've seen them with some level of comic relief. Pip could offer something different.

With modern technology, an actor doesn't even have to be alive.
So interesting that Captain Marvel is going to fight the Skrulls since I thought they were still owned by Fox.
I thought this was an interesting aspect as well. However, it turns out that, like Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch, the Skrulls are licensed to both Marvel and Fox for specific uses. James Gunn (director of the Guardians of the Galaxy films and seeming expert on all things cosmic in the MCU) took to Twitter last summer to try and explain the rights issues to fans. He explained that the Skrulls were an official part of the MCU now. Though there are some specific Skrulls (such as the Fantastic Four antagonist the Super Skrull) that are strictly Fox properties, but the race itself is available to both Fox and Marvel:
I really don't get why Fox doesn't just try and sell FF back to Marvel? Do they really believe they will get any traction with them? After 3 failed movies, and especially after how badly the last one bombed, and was an absolute nightmare behind the scenes.
X-Men I get keeping, (even though I wish Marvel had them to). But at least with the X-Men they've had success. But FF has been bad movie after bad movie.
