Just backed TwoMorrows American Comic Book Chronicles series second printings of the 1980s and 1950s volumes. Though my wallet was begging me not to, I splurged to get all 8 volumes.
I’m backing a western/horror graphic novel called Trigger Mortis. The book looks like it’ll be a good read. It might not get funded though. It has a ways to go and only two days left.
Ryan Drost, who is forum member Royal_Lantern and co-host of the Star Joes podcast, is following his lifelong dream to write a comic book. He is running a Kickstarter campaign to fund the publishing of the first issue. And with about a week left there’s still a little ways to go.
Ryan is teaming up with a talented new artist to create this all ages comic that looks like it’ll be a fun read. This is a worthwhile project to bring to life so let’s get behind him and back Stealth Hammer.
- The Art of Enric - He's the guy who did most of the Vampirella covers (among other great fantasy and pinup art) back in the 70s and 80s.
- The Art of Frank Cho - usually a no-brainer. If Frank did it I'm bound to check it out.
- Punchline - Super-Frenemies Vol. 2 - I could wait and get this from Antarctic but I really enjoyed the first trade (it's up for my Book of the Year).
- Ron Z's Patriotika Pin-Up Playing Cards - Ron's a friend and while it's unlikely I will ever show these cards to anyone, I like to throw support someone's way when I can.
Steve Bryant is Kickstarting the second issue of his series The Catch right now. For those who missed the first issue, there are several options to get both issues at once, either digitally or in print.
Only one week left on the Kickstarter for Steve Bryant's The Catch and it's over 80% funded. Thanks to all who have helped already. If you can, please help push it over the line either by pledging or sharing the link on your social media. There are still great rewards left, including original art, commissions, and being drawn into the comic itself, just to name a few. Don't miss out!
Get in on this one fast... Dynamite is selling its hardcovers and more at a DEEP discount... the Alex Ross Dynamite Art hardcover is $10 with $5 shipping... and you can get a "grab bag" of 3 TPGs and 2 hardcovers for $20. Ends on April 30.
I backed the Silverline Double Feature. They're kickstarting two different comics in one campaign, but you can choose to get either one or both. There creators have a lot of ties to Malibu comics, so if you have nostalgia for Malibu, check them out!
As you may have heard on a recent Book of the Month Club episode, listener and forum member Ryan Drost is making a second attempt to fund his book, Stealth Hammer. It looks like a good project with 2 weeks left to raise about $2,600. Hopefully you'll give him some support and pledge to fund the book.
Update on The Stealth Hammer Kickstarter campaign.
This is really cool.
As the campaign reaches 75% of it's goal, an anonymous backer has contacted Ryan to say that they will match all pledges, up to $1,000, that are made today Aug. 15 through 11:59pm on Sunday, August 16th. This is an incredible opportunity to gain the funding needed for this project.
There're 9 days left to raise the final $1,000 in pledges that are needed to fund this comic. I hope that you'll join the party and pledge this weekend. And pass it along to others that you think might enjoy it.
Dead Man's Hand #1, which I edited, is up on Kickstarter right now. It already met its goal on the first day, but there are some good stretch goals to push toward. Creator Jim Heffron is a talented artist, and there are a couple of commission and cover recreation rewards left.
Just a few days left to get in on The Astounding Worlds of Al Williamson and Mark Schultz. It is well past its funding goal and Flesk Publications always comes through so no worries about it not happening. Three books to choose from including a hard bound edition of Schultz's XENOZOIC TALES or Schultz's new CARBON book or a new book on the late Al Williamson's work. Extra goodies include prints and a Schultz/Williamson sketchbook.
Steve Bryant is Kickstarting issue 3 of The Catch, the book he writes with art by Ismael Canales and colors by Roger Surroca and Mireia Girbau. This issue concludes the story arc. There are reward options and options during checkout to catch up on some or all of the issues. There are also rewards including original art and being drawn into the comic.
Just backed Mike Grell's JON SABLE, FREELANCE Deluxe Hardcover Omnibus vol. 1. The Kickstarter has only been up for 12 hrs and it has already gotten $22,500 of the $55,000 goal with 20 days left.
For any interested, today is the last day for the early bird price on the Jon Sable Omnibus. Starting tomorrow, the price is slightly higher so order today if you are the least bit interested.
For those of you who might not be following it, Sal’s kickstarter for The Hostage successfully funded, so congrats to Sal.
In one of his updates Sal recommended another project that successfully parted my money from my wallet, an Illustrated prose novel from Richard Delgado called Dracula of Transylvania. Looks right up my alley.

As a non-Kickstarter aside, for those of you who are fans of Steve's book Athena Voltaire, he recently posted an update on that title, too.

Ha! Talk about coincidence. Didn't even know they were having Steve on to talk about this the day after I supported it.
