At $1.070B, Avengers is now the highest grossing Disney release, jumping over Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, Toy Story 3 and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest.
It's now the 6th highest grossing film of all time and will overtake The Return of the King and Transformers 3 for the #4 spot by the end of the weekend.
Thanos appearances should go up. So should infinity gauntlet related stories with all the speculation flying around.
My holy grail is Iron Man #55....I held a $200 copy in my hands last year and put it down. I'm betting the same comic is at least double that now. I'll never get it :(

The price will go back down eventually. It will probably always be worth more than it was worth a couple months ago, but it won't stay at the rate it is currently. And more recent stuff like Infinity Gauntlet should go back to more normal values. The back issue market just isn't what it once was.

I wouldn't count on that happening. Certainly not for the foreseeable future. Until a movie featuring Thanos is canceled, Thanos plays no role, or it comes out and somehow tanks, the book will probably only go up or stay at present levels. I think you are talking about 2-4 years at least
avengers 4 took off on the speculation of the cap film right about the time i needed it. I hemmed and hawed forever expecting the book to come back down. I finally pulled the trigger not long before the movie came out and it's up another 20-30% since.
3 or 4 years ago I could have had that book for about half what I paid and about a 1/3 of what it's going for now.
Avengers is now the 3rd highest grossing film of all time ($1.331B), surpassing Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows, Part 2. It has overtaken The Dark Knight as the 3rd highest grossing domestic film ($538.1M). It is also the 5th highest grossing film overseas ($793.2M), but is only $10M away from taking the fourth spot away from Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.
I still can't believe that it was League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, and not this film, that prompted Connery to retire. I think the day I showed up on set in a teddy bear suit would be the day I questioned whether or not it was worth it anymore.
This is one of those '90s films I often forget existed. Like Val Kilmer's The Saint, or Billy Zane's The Phantom. Someone posts about it, and I think "That's right, that actually happened."
Funny. But I am still going to enjoy the Dark Knight.
I don't know if this is a discussion for another thread but I wonder will the franchise become more superhero oriented not camp or a Schumacher wet dream but more BTAS?
In it's third week on home video, Avengers added another $6.5M in Blu-ray sales and $5.6M in DVD sales. As of October 14, the film has made $148.5M in total sales.
