FUCK!! 155Million opening weekend? I really did not expect it to go that far for opening weekend but to be honest I have no idea just how popular the books are.
The trailer makes me think the movie is just a watered down version of Battle Royal, now, with that said I will see it but only when it comes out on DVD. I just do not enjoy watching movies in the theaters.
I was thinking Battle Royale as well. for reference.
It's been said in interviews that her editor asked if she had taken influence from BR. She didn't know what that was, and asked if she should read it. Her editor then said not to, so she could keep doing what she was doing.
Just looking at the screencap from the video reminds me of that alien....fetus-like thing/Guardian from the last Legion of Super Hero series. (Before the reboot)
The Germans like to change movie titles slightly - usually adding some descriptive subtitles: John Carter-Zwischen zwei Welten (John Carter-Between two worlds) and Hunger Games-Die Tribute von Panem (Hunger Games-The tributes of panem)

Wow... surprisingly enough, I have an answer to my question. I was reading the comments on Bleeding Cool under their posting of the trailer with thoughts about it and someone else asked the same question I asked and then someone else responded to him/her with this
"There was an interview not long ago where this question was asked. Apparently they shot 3 scenes with one, hoping the censors kept at least one. The film is going to be PG-13, so we'll see if that works out. If it doesn't make it into the theatrical cut, it will be on the DVD. "
"Walt Disney Studios has released a new image of Chris Evans as Captain America from "The Avengers" and announced a release date of April 4, 2014 for Marvel Studios' sequel to "Captain America: The First Avenger." The sequel will pick up where "The Avengers" leaves off, continuing Steve Rogers' partnership with Nick Fury and S.H.I.E.L.D. as the star-spangled Avenger struggles to acclimate to his role as a hero in the modern era.
Chris Evans, who was cast as Captain America in a deal for three films in addition to "The Avengers," will reprise his role as Steve Rogers with Samuel L. Jackson onboard for an appearance as Nick Fury. In January, actor Neal McDonough noted he would return to his role as Dum Dum Dugan in the Marvel Movieverse and mentioned the "Captain America" sequel would begin production at the end of 2012. It was also reported that Marvel has narrowed its list of director candidates for the sequel to "The Italian Job" director F. Gary Gray, "The Adjustment Bureau's" George Nolfi and brothers
Anthony and Joe Russo, who are best known for directing episodes of NBC's "Community."

I saw a preview of it at the last NYCC.
"There was an interview not long ago where this question was asked. Apparently they shot 3 scenes with one, hoping the censors kept at least one. The film is going to be PG-13, so we'll see if that works out. If it doesn't make it into the theatrical cut, it will be on the DVD. "
Boo on PG-13, btw.
