Hi all, my name is David, and I started listening to CGS about 3 years ago, but have since gone back and listened to a majority of the footnotes episodes from the beginning and many of the others.

    Two truths and a lie...

    1. My first trip to a comic book store was in 1984.
    2. My collection numbers in the tens of thousands of issues.
    3. The first comic I ever bought was Fantastic Four 173.

    Greetings and salutations,

I'm Stu. I've been a listener for 2 or 3 years. Comics have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember but I started my affair in fifth grade when I traded my Indian Jones figure for Iron Man #123 - "Casino Fatale" . Prior to this I liked Flash and Green Lantern comics.
Spiderman (and then his Amazing Friends) and the Hulk were my favorite cartoons (the "Wonderifical" episode and Australian Wolverine episode rocked) .
Superman was the first movie in saw in theaters. He was my first favorite.
The 60's Marvel cartoons are some of my earliest memories (especially the Spiderman, FF (love that baseline), and Captain America theme songs in addition to "FLAME ON! " and Reed's stretchy noise).
I often made Cap shields out of paper plates, loose leaf, and staples as well as Space Ghost bands out of folded looseleaf and tape.
I am not a superhero purist bit I do prefer superhero stories.
I do not have issues with reboots or retcons. I do have issues with bad stories. Continuity is important for ongoings but it shouldn't get in the way of a good story. Elseworlds, What-ifs, alternate realities/timeliness/dimensions are great!
I am part of the comics as modern myth camp.
Dr. Doom is my favorite antagonist (I am regularly let down when he doesn't win. He really should be ruling the world or galaxy by now).

    Three things :

    1. I have the proportionate strength and agility of a middle-aged man
    2. I don't like comic TV series b/c of the soap opera aspect they contain
    3. My wife encourages my comic habit because she loves them herself

    Three things about me:

    1. Aside from comics, I adore my wife and our "daughter"- an adorable ginger cat named Kali.
    2. I have helped to produce a forthcoming horror film.
    3. A dying alien dude once gave me a ring that bestowed upon me incredible powers harnessed by my willpower. Unfortunately, I'm a bit lazy and didn't become a space cop, and I lost the ring somewhere in my collectibles room...

LOL! That was an easy one! Totally calling BS on that whole horror film thing!

I dunno. That whole "loving his family" bit seems suspicious. =))

Hi, I'm Joe in Brooklyn, NY. Been out of the comics loop for a couple years but haven't stopped listening to CGS. With all of the comics material on tv lately I've gotten the itch to start reading again.

    3 things:
    1) My first comic book was the original X-Factor #1.
    2) I once made the Kessel run in less than 12 parsecs.
    3) In high school I worked in the LCS that Dan Didio shopped in.

I'm G. i live in the UK and have been a comic reader from the 1970s (weirdly, my first memories of comics were Jonah Hex and Marevel's The Human Fly - though it was Star Wars Weekly that probably did most for getting me addicted as it used to reprint stuff like Micronauts, Star Lord and Adam Warlock if I remember rightly & made me a lifelong Carmine Infantino fan).

I've listened to CGS for years now & love the Spotlight episodes. Nearly spoke to the CGS team when they were at the London comic con a couple of years ago.

    1. I once had a cameo role in a biopic of Jack Kirby playing his cigar.
    2. Too many comic boxes and too little space in our house messes with my zen.
    3. Dan Abnett lives down the road from me.

    HI I'm Barry and I'm a geekalcoholic

    1. I co-host a uk podcast called Geek Syndicate
    2. I had a cameo in an issue of Atomic Robo
    3. The first comic I ever read was Spiderman

I'm Paul, and I amazingly just found out about Comic Geek Speak a month or two ago. I was pretty shocked to discover it is based out of the same area where I grew up. I am a Multimedia Designer working in Harrisburg, PA, and I have been a die hard fan of comics since the 1989 Batman film. As far as the truths and the lie....

    1. Pants and I worked at the same OfficeMax, although at the time I never knew he liked comics.

    2. I bought a Darth Vader nutcracker from Murd at the Christmas Barn.

    3. I went to (and worked a booth at) my first comic convention last year and was more amazed by George Perez just sitting out in the open than the all the celebrities wandering around.

My name is Carl, and I was a member of the forums before. Have been listening ever since around . . . ohhhhh . . . 2007 or so. Before episode 300, I think.

    1. I hung out with Mother Love Bone when they played Chicago and was supposed to go hook up with them the following night in Rockford. Certain things happened and I never made it. I was supposed to go so that I could figure out some way to form a side project with Bruce Fairweather. Wonder how life might have changed had those other plans not gotten in the way.

    2. My wife's uncle is a cousin of Dan Jurgens.

    3. My mom partied with the Beatles with they played Chicago.

Hi, my name is Adam, I hail from Scotland and have been listening to the podcast for the past few months and I really appreciate the detail, effort and breadth of opinion that goes into each episode .

    1. I have an Immortal IronFist Tattoo covering the majority of my right forearm
    2. I recently quit a very high paying job in order to play music and write my own comic book.
    3. I have a dog named SHAZAM.

Hello everyone, I'm Phil! I've been listening to CGS for about two months or so, and I'm a huge fan. I've recently decided to leave forever the comics forum I've frequented for 5-6 years because lately it's been an awful, toxic environment. I went to eighth grade and high school not far from West Chester, PA, itself not too long a drive from the Geeks in Reading.

Catwoman, I am going to guess that you aren't actually a cat, as I assume that would make it difficult to type as well as you did. But please forgive me if I'm wrong!

    My three:
    1. I write trade and GN reviews for a comics website.
    2. My all-time favorite series is Avengers Academy.
    3. My all-time favorite hero is Martian Manhunter.

Rider_Philze, nice guess, but no, the lie was that I was a member of the superheromovement, I'm not, but I never said I was a cat, I said I was bullyed and everyone said I was, sorry if I didn't write it clearly. Anyways for your 3 I think that number 1 or 3 might not be true, though I'm still not sure.

Hey all... Very Long Time listener but never ever participate in any way. Born and Raised in Toronto and I've read comics since I was 8 years old. I was exclusively a DC Reader for years but I've since branched out to just about everything else although I do feel like I'm being unfaithful when reading MARVEL. The most interesting thing about me are my two English Bulldogs... Ellie & Daisy.

    1) I like Boney M
    2) I've never eaten a Big Mac before
    3) I prefer girls with small boobs.

Oh... The Giffen DeMatteis run on JLA is my favourite run of all time.

I just started listening to this podcast. I'm starting from 2005, though not listening to every episode. A lot of the movie talk is really interesting. "I really wish they made an Avengers movie, or even just a good Cap movie. Maybe one from World War II and then him getting frozen and coming out in a post 9/11 world." "It's too bad we'll never see a Spider-man/Daredevil crossover." "I'd love to see a Preacher TV show."

And now 10 years later... a lot of that is actually happening. Pretty crazy.

    1. I cried when my mom tore up my 1991 X-Men #1 to punish me and my brother.
    2. I love pouches.
    3. Until a few months ago, I had never read a comic published after the year 2000.
