Stories from/about the ABA are the best. There is almost no footage (or real coverage) of the ABA, but what little there is makes Semi-Pro seem like documentry. What a great league.

Dan Issel (former Kentucky Colonel and Denver Nugget) used to host a morning drivetime sports talk show here in Denver. That guy would tell crazy stories about the ABA.
    Loved it.

My 3 and a half year old daughter knows, and can correctly apply, the terms "floppy" and "trade".

I swear I didn't intend this, or drill them as vocab words. But I guess this is what happens when you take her with you to the shop enough times. (And she is working on a short box of her own books by now)

Did you see the 30 for 30 on the Spirits of St. Louis?

The Spirits of St. Louis 30 for 30 was great. My wife was watching it with me and about 3 minutes in she made a comment about the ABA being just like Semi Pro. It made me wish there was more footage from the league, but I think that would take away some of the legendary mythos surrounding it.

The ABA had the best ball ever and some of the craziest unis.

D&D artist Dave Trampier passed away on March 24th. I'm not a D&D guy so the name didn't ring a bell, but I grew up seeing his D&D cover art in ads and on store shelves. Later I saw his D&D art on the interwebs. Anyway Dave was a rather odd guy (even for an artist). Here is his crazy story.

Woman mistakes seat cover for person dressed as Batman

Juanita Aurand felt threatened by what she thought was a man dressed as Batman in a parked car. It turned out to be a child car seat.

Batman is usually seen as a superhero, not a supervillain. Juanita Aurand was heading to work in downtown Denver when she spotted a familiar face in a nearby parking garage.

"I parked my car, and then I got out and turned around, and the first thing I see is Batman looking at me," she told 9NEWS. "I kind of blinked and looked away, and he's still looking at me."

She thought a man dressed as Batman in a parked car was ready to attack. Aurand ran out of the parking garage, thinking she was in imminent danger.

"When I got in our building and I went to the security people, and when I approached the desk I said, 'I really hesitate to even tell you what's happening right now, but there is a man in a car up on the third floor dressed like Batman,'" Aurand said.

The security guard went to investigate the incident. She became so scared, she resorted to eating stale crackers in her office desk drawer for lunch.

Turns out, it was a child car seat cover.

"I could tell that he was trying really hard not to laugh," Aurand said.

Aurand was relieved but also very embarrassed. She said she will avoid going past the security desk. She later showed a co-worker the car with the Batman child seat cover, and how realistic it looked.

"I've never seen car seat covers like that," she said. "I thought it was real."

My sister has seat covers that have a stuffed monkey sitting on the top of one seat and a stuffed frog sitting on the other.

You pull up behind her parked car in the dark, and it look s like there are people sitting in those seats. Can be creepy as all get out.

Just saying I get the woman. That Batman is oddly creepy.

    Semi-Spoilery Tidbit/Speculation:

Paul Bettany spoke recently about filming scenes set in the 1940s for Age of Ultron.

Sounds like The Vision will indeed be built on Professor Horton's original Human Torch (Probably just called the Synthezoid) as glimpsed at the World's Fair in Captain America 1.

Man, I miss hanging out with friends and quoting Real Genius.

    "It's a moral imperative."

"And we were going to make you king of the Winter Carnival!"

"You still run?" "Only when chased."

My original joke was going to involve Alfred, but I deleted it before posting. Unlike others on this forum I am a civilized barbarian.

I love the original Bad News Bears. You couldn't make that movie today.
The Longest Yard - Burt Reynolds is the greatest busted quarterback who ever lived
Tin Cup - The sound track is awesome and if you can't hit it past the ladies tee you play with your pants down.
The Hustler - Has there ever been a better pool hall movie

Just rewatched that a couple of weeks back. I think it was on the MLB channel? Still funny to this day.
