@John_Steed, Saga. Hands down. Valen is definitely #2 currently. I really enjoyed that book and after reading last weeks' D&D Forgotten Realms #1 which was so poor compared to Valen but will probably live on forever while something amazing gets the ax because it doesn't have a big name or publisher.

The "I went mad when I actually hit the LCS" edition:

I don't know if it was because I had such a light week last week and would have again this week, but I ended up buying a bunch of new stuff I had no interest in going into the shop...

BATMAN, INCORPORATED #1 - No interest in Morrison's stuff anymore but the artist is a local guy and used to go to my LCS.
BATMAN: KNIGHTFALL, VOL 02: KNIGHTQUEST TP NEW EDITION - Finally reading this whole thing!
DARK HORSE PRESENTS #12 - My copy got sold so I have to hit another shop.
GODZILLA #1 - Looks bad but I am going to give it a fair shot, I actually got it free because I bought that awesome Godzilla hoodie from a few previews ago.
MAGIC: THE GATHERING #4 - I wanted to drop this but I was weak and bought #4
MIND MGMT #1 - Had no interest mostly just due to the cover, but we'll see how it is.
RESIDENT ALIEN #1 - Easily my most anticipated of the week! Can't wait!
YOUNGBLOOD #71 - Bought this on a lark after all the recent chatter. :)

I forgot to mention that Hero comics 2012 came out today from IDW and while the stories are so-so the cause is great. The Hero Initiative helps comic creators with medical bills or other emergencies. A good cause since the people they make tons of money for don't. My favorite is a single page by Russ Heath where he talks about Lichtenstein making $4 mil on his panel and he couldnt afford groceries at age 84. Really hit me hard. Pick this up!

Quin & Zhurrie (if you found a copy) how was DHP this week? I'd like to get it for Mister X (and Eltingville) but I'm wondering what you thought of the Mister X story.
  • ZhurrieZhurrie Posts: 617
@peedmyself yes, I did get a copy finally... it is the same as pretty much every DHP, a couple cool things but I still come away wishing I didn't have to drop $8 for it. Mister X didn't do much at all for me, it has a kind of Snowcrash vibe but not cyberpunk. Art is just OK, story is OK, writing and pacing are a little weak for such a short glimpse... on its own it would not make me want to really read or buy it but it is slightly intriguing in a way despite itself. You could flip through a copy and read the Mr. X bit in like 2 minutes. I don't want to spoil it but if you want I can give you the story rundown.
  • QuinQuestionQuinQuestion Posts: 130
Yeah everything has been ok in DHP. Nothing has been standing out for me for a couple issues. I haven't been excited reading it at all so I might drop it soon if it doesn't get better. Mr. X was ok and the art was a little inconsistent.
