Not to hijack the thread, but I had a thought that I wanted to share with everyone. Forgive me if this has been brought up before.
It seems to me that when you factor in incentives, low print run, big name creators, & niche material/subject matter, Kickstarter could become the place where speculators go to make their "investments". I don't know if that's a good or bad thing. Is there something within Kickstarter that could keep this from happening? Do creators or buyers care if this started happening? I can imagine that some creators wouldn't have a problem with someone picking up 100 copies of their product.
@Rebis I started a separate thread for this topic because I thought it was worthy of talking about (without hijacking this thread). I quoted you so I hope you don't mind

That is quite all right. I'll find that other thread to continue this discussion.
I've been a huge StarChild fan for over 20 years now (Wow, it's been that long?!) and have been eagerly awaiting this Kickstarter to launch. This is a great book. I love it and highly recommend checking it out.
Hey All, I haven't been able to post or get the word out for my webcomic kickstarter Mx and Thorne due to extensive flooding where I live. Basement was a pool this weekend. A real Mess. It's been a long weekend.
Max and Thorne is at 30% Funded! But we really need your help.If you were putting it off, please head over and fund us today! :) Thanks.
Can I plug on this forum one more time? The Guns of Shadow Valley Kickstarter is in its last hours, it ends Monday at 11pm Eastern. Still lots of awesome rewards left. We're trying to reach two more stretch goals that will allow us to print a much nicer book for everybody. So please check it out and help us spread the word. Thanks!
I agree..but 200k? Wow, I hope they can pull it off.
Yeah, it will be a steep hill to climb. And it's rather pricey just to order the paperback version of the book. I wish them luck, because the story concept really appeals to me, but I don't know if they'll get it.
OK, friends and neighbors, I'm all kicked out for a while.
Stuff starts to add up.
I'm just about there with you. I'm paying for 2 more projects then I'm out unless something special pops up. Of course I only get a handful of things; almost everything I get is from CGS related people. I'm getting the Starchild book and WWK; that's it for a while.
A film that wants to truly capture the spirit of the original but without becoming Holywood saccherinised or without any drop in quality that independent films often suffer (sorry, but it's true!). A quality story, a real martial artist lead who can act, I want this on my Santa list.
Just wanted you all to know that World War Kaiju is 86% funded. We are so close to our goal! Also, sketches by Patrick McEvoy are still available so get them while you can. CLICK HERE TO SUPPORT WORLD WAR KAIJU

About a day and a half left on the Armikrog. KS. This is coming from the guys who created The Neverhood, and the creator of Earthworm Jim.

I also broke down and backed the Starchild book (see above) because damn that's gonna be a beautiful book if it lives up to its promise.

I'm with @WetRats though. I backed 10 projects now and received 1. Until I start getting return on investment I'm done for a bit.
Anyhow... ACCIDENT MAN.
