I'm mildly excited for this. I tried to get into smallville but finished the first season and just didn't want to continue. I'll check out the first episode but idk if I'll continue, never really been a fan of green arrow so meh
CW shows are always such a crapshoot (emphasis on the crap more often than I'd prefer, sadly), but I'm sure I'll give this a shot. I always want to like comics-based shows, after all.
I only really care about BC being good, and while she is very hot, I haven't seen her act in anything so I guess we'll see. Be nice to have a good show out there if it turns out to be.
If you haven't been keeping up with the recent TV news, the series has been picked up by The CW. Here's the official description.
After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the Pacific. When he returns home to Starling City, his devoted mother Moira, much-beloved sister Thea, and best friend Tommy welcome him home, but they sense Oliver has been changed by his ordeal on the island. While Oliver hides the truth about the man he's become, he desperately wants to make amends for the actions he took as the boy he was. Most particularly, he seeks reconciliation with his former girlfriend, Laurel Lance. As Oliver reconnects with those closest to him, he secretly creates the persona of Arrow – a vigilante – to right the wrongs of his family, fight the ills of society, and restore Starling City to its former glory. By day, Oliver plays the role of a wealthy, carefree and careless philanderer he used to be – flanked by his devoted chauffeur/bodyguard, John Diggle – while carefully concealing the secret identity he turns to under cover of darkness. However, Laurel's father, Detective Quentin Lance, is determined to arrest the vigilante operating in his city. Meanwhile, Oliver's own mother, Moira, knows much more about the deadly shipwreck than she has let on – and is more ruthless than he could ever imagine.
The series stars Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen, Colin Donnell as Tommy, Katie Cassidy as Laurel Lance, David Ramsey as John Diggle, Willa Holland as Thea Queen, with Susanna Thompson as Moira Queen and Paul Blackthorne as Detective Quentin Lance.
I always hate when a company buys a property and then they completely change it so it barely resembles what they bought. It makes no sense. Just do what the Hunger Games did with Battle Royale and save some money! But seriously they are not even keeping the name so it wont even garner the extra ratings from the super hero hype right now.
So...since they are going with the Year One origin for the most part, it seems like this is the Batman series they tried to make a while back but got quashed by Warner Brothers because Batman Begins was about to come out. Billionaire Playboy turned vigilante with chauffeur sidekick. Best friend Tommy...and that dark styled image really makes it look like they want a Batman tone to it. I'll try it, but have low expectations.
Looks really freaking cool (especially the tennis ball shot), but I have some things that I do not like. - Ollie is not a killer, I hope they don't try to make him so dark. - Why not just let the chick be named Dinah? - He is not blonde enough for me. Can't we just give him a Slim Shady makeover? - Personal Gripe: I loved Justin Hartley as Ollie, even if he was kinda half Batman in Smallville. Then again I wanted him to be Cap and I can admit I was very wrong about that. That being said, I am very excited to see the show. I love the Green Arrow so much, even if the current series is just horrendous.

"Dinah" is too old-fashioned for the WB, I guess.
"Starling City" is an amusing choice, too.
No pun intended.
